Just discovered I have an JCats_Arms folder in my #WAW Hierarchy - should there be 3do stuff in it ??

Same here but I figure it is left over from when I had Jcat Effects enabled through JSGM.  When I had 6DOF errors I disabled it.  I believe this would be what was left behind after disabling Jcats.

the jcats arms pack is needed for the jcats zero pack and is not related to the jcats effects.

as far as i know the jcats arms pack was missing in the first download of #WaW, but was later added by monty in the updated download of waw part 7.

i am not sure, if he included the jcats arms in the updated SFS pack or if he just put it in the folder, my jcats arms folder is full with files, but i might have edited that myself.

i think in the big CUP thread there was a hotfix, maybe it was also added to the download posting of CUP...

EDIT: so there was a hotfix to apply, you can find that here:

BUT. this seems to also have been fixed with the latest updated version of waw package number 7 download. so it really depends on when you downloaded CUP. installing the hotfix won't hurt either way.

ok, sorry for the confusion!

i just checked the updated waw 7. the japancat_arms fix is inside the sfs file (WAW46.SFS). so you are all set up and ready to go if you have the latest waw7 package, even if you have an empty japancats_arms folder in #waw.

to test this, just select some of japancats zeros and select the special bombs (like 30kg air to air). this should work without problem!

you can find one right here on sas at https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=16581.0
you can use it to browse inside SFS files and such, but in the case of this thread, there really is no need i guess.

Many thanks for the download info on SFS extractor, have downloaded it and used it only to see whats inside a SFS file.
Looks like you need to be a whiz kid to understand what it all means!
How you manage to find the fix for the jcats fix was in all those numbers beats me .
