testing
« on: April 03, 2015, 03:51:09 PM »

I'm just trying to figure out how to post a screenshot of my log file.

I'm not entirely sure of the sequence of evento to get it here in an readable..

I did a screen shot and went to my paint clipboard and put it in my documents & then
did the insert image & add attachments to post & clicked on upload

well, making some headway..
I'll try adding my newest 70% crash in WAW which was working fine until I switched to SAS modAct 5.30 and back again to WAW

post your log in this way:

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,13457.0.html

For a instant log File read here:
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,19308.0.html

Important: what to post and how to post it (code option):
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php?topic=39780.0

see here a example how any crash report/help request should look like then:

thank you.
i have been trying to figure out how to make the font readable on this forum.

I also looked all over for a "how to "  for posting the images here.

thanks for the links...I have seen a couple of them, but don't quite understand the full jest of em...
I'll just have to re-read.
Actually one poster said I needed to get someplace to upload files & then put a link in forum..another said to take screen shot & put it here....
Actually I'm very confused in what to do from start to finish...Where is my grandson when I need him...?

this may take a while...

I hope this one makes it o.k. it is still a screenshot from ms word so I could save here as a jpg file.
Bummer..still to small and it doesn't have that slider thing..
This stuff is just way above my pay grade...

you may as well delete this whole "testing" thing of mine. there is no way I can put a copy of my log file here.

I only have MS word or note pad & it doesn't have the proper file extension.

I also only have the paint software to work with on a picture & that is to small to read when I get it here.

I'll just stick with the 4.12.2 for now...it's fine...

sorry to take up ur time...

Come on. Giving up .. just because this?
its not written in stone that he log files must have the extension "log".

change this in your conf.ini:
LOGFILE=log.txt
instead
LOGFILE=log.lst

do the same with eventlog=eventlog.lst:
change it to eventlog=eventlog.txt.

thats it. Now you can load/save/edit/change etc it with Notepad.  ;)

Or: change it via properties of log.lst...
right click on th log.lst file, click properties
and there click change next to "open with".
here seach for notepad.exe (normally its in \windows), save.
now you can open ecery *.lst file with notepad.
this sholuld work .. but thats just what I remember
as I have a german win8.1. see Windows help for further infos.

PapaG39,

Once you've got your log as basic text (I use Notepad to view it), copy the last page or so. The critical errors usually show up near the end. Then hit the circled button in the posting screen:

And then:

Code: [Select]
And hopefully it will show up looking like this
