From Dennis' Update June 14, 2015

A New Update June 17, 2015

For The Cape York Peninsula  ;D

All final detailing of land texturing completed. Many time consuming hours checking over any missed tiles.
A rework in PixPlant of the two new Oz textures completed (over write the texture tgas again).
Road work adjustments and a few new bridges completed.

The most important aspect of this update is that the rivers are flowing in The Cape York Peninsula.  :D ;D :)

There is a great partnership at play with this map  ;D

Aussie Hard Yakka  :D
Kirby doing all the nitty gritty texturing of Cape York mostly by hand with new textures. Detailing beaches, creating the area only with 4 textures slots available. Painting the area so it mostly resembles the area.
I lived in Cairns for many years so this area is close to my heart.

American Ingenuity  ;D
While I dealt with a rivers layer and map_c the usual way things wouldn't work at all. Am I going completely insane , am I going off my nuttah?
Dennis  came up with an incredible idea. He came up with a very different way to deal with the map_c. Thanks to Dennis' ingenuity a working system is now in place for the map_c. He was able to work this particular way as he had very large ram with his computer system. I tried it but couldn't do it not having enough ram.

a BIG THANK YOU to Dennis for sorting out the map_c issue  ;D I was baffled by it for quite some time.

Over write all files including the new textures (PixPlant). I started work from Dennis' last update June 14, 2015 so it does not detract at all .

Last duty for me for The Cape York Peninsula is a reefs and shallows layer perhaps at the end of the month.

Enjoy

Just thinking,

With the last reefs/shallows update
I will add two load.inis a sky suitable for a wet season (very dark and foreboding) and a sky suitable for a dry season (pretty clear with white puffy clouds) from Tierry's sky packs
.
Cape York and PNG similar in Climate they both have a wet and dry season situation PNG has more heavy and intense rain.

I'd kill for some Pandanus, Syzygium Trees, Eucalyptus Trees and Cycads to plant along the river banks ha ha  ;D

Shallows and Reefs Progress  ;D
After Dennis initially tried his ingenious method of making a map_c table I was shocked to see the same squared off reefs and very little work showing at all.  :o

I then started to think it could be map_T

I then messed around completely with map_T I removed the land from an original flattened map_c then changed the rgb 0 water to rgb 31. Filled the land areas with grey squares to be transparent.

I then made a new map_T replacing the ocean with rgb 31

This is a much better result

Shallows/Reefs still in progress about half done finished by early next week  ;D

For me a final shallows and reefs update soon.  ;D

After a weeks holiday in Laos early July, I will attempt I am sure the first ever wet and dry season maps

utilizing different skies from Tierry, different wood and possibly a different texture or two in Cape York
