Hello!

first of all, pls post something like this in the techhelp section as this is a tech problem!
second, pls confirm we are talking about the Cyberolas repaint...I think we do because of the load.ini file you have posted...
third-no problems on my end here, map loads just fine in FMB....

I guess you are not up to the latest MME standard maybe?

Dear Griffon,
since I found that the MME part 10 was devoted to the Burma map, I thought that here was the right place to put my post. Sorry for my mistake.
Yes,  I am talking about the Burma map of Cyberolas.
Maybe I missed the part 10 when I installed the various MME parts in my game.(I fell asleep?)
What should I do now?
Just install MME part 10 on top of my game or start at the very beginning with MME part 1 and then go on with the 20 parts of WAW?
(May I suggest to do with the the 15 parts of MME what has been done with the part 4.0.8 to 4.12.2 i.e. a megapatch (fire and forget it)).
Sorry for the trouble, I am awaiting your recommendation.
Best regards.

no problem :) I just want to keep the forums tidy and reserve the Downloads section here for the downloads;
if any troubles creep up, those are better discussed in the Tech section :)

to get to your problem...I first thought that maybe this whc tga file that your log complains about might not be included properly, but after I remmed out my personal tex folder in the mapmods, I could still load the map just fine..
I admit I did not try flying a QMB on it, but just loading it did not produce any errors on my side;

so I suggest maybe you add MME pt 10 again AFTER downloading it once more, maybe you got a somewhat corrupt download; of course you need to copy over pts 11 and up to the latest too; I fear the problem might be hidden somewhere there...

did you check other maps that came with pt 11 or 12 or the newer parts?

Dear Griffon,
I downloaded a fresh MME part 10 and installed it in my game, I also installed the following parts up to 14.
On FMB I couldn't get the map, the screen remained blue.
On QMB I got a flying aircraft with a green landscape but the sky was black although it was high noon.
On a single mission, my aircraft disappeared in a yellow sea instead of rolling on a firm ground.
Aïe, aïe.
Regards.

that does not sound good!
have you tried adding the map the old fashioned way? downloading it and adding it to the WAW mapmods folder yourself?
on a sidenote, which classfile breaks the PBN bombsight? just out of curiosity :)

Dear Griffon,
I first tried to add the missing "whc_jungle.tga" by creating a _tex/trees/  folder into SAS, no success, then into WAW, no success . Why didn't it work? I have an experience with a previous SAS game where adding a tga solved a problem with a map.
Finally i installed the map the old fashioned way. It works.
About your sidenote, I don't understand the question. Would you like to erase the bombsight on the Nomad for your own use? Then try to drop a bomb on a moving submarine at low altitude in the Gulf of Biscay with a low poorly manoeuvrable aircraft at 2 o'clock in the night without being shot by the AAguns. Aha!
Amazingly the Nomad may load bombs and mines but no torpedoes, but the PBY may load both.
By the way in order to understand what happen with the Burma map and find the corrupted file, I used the soft of Benitomuso to open the MME10 sfs file but then got stuck, I don't understand anything inside the folder.
Many thanks for your help.
Best regards.

Hello!

your first solution with only adding the tga file should have helped already, weird that it did not;
of course your second try with adding the map the old fashioned way will work, provided the textures you might need are all in-which they should if the map work now...

concerning the Nomad, I have solved the problem myself;
on my modded WAW module, I have added the PBY Blackcat mod, which is not part of WAW yet..
with this mod in, the PBN does loose its bombsight again, which it has now by default, using WAW 20;
but I found the classfiles that are responsible for loosing the BS, remmed them out and now I have the BlackCat, and the PBN with working bombsights;

the better question concerning the PBN is why it was introduced the first way; it would have been better to introduce a stock PBY version as this would have been easier to develop further, but Oleg chose the PBN and thats it.

I have gread admiration for these crews who did the U-Boat hunting in the Atlantic, no matter what they rode in;
pretty much all of those bombers were large, lumbering targets that were not very maneuverable down low; add to this some aggressive sub skippers with a conning tower bristling with AA guns and you know how that must have felt;
those subs even killed a lot of Wildcats and Avengers from hunter-killer teams which were far more maneuverable;

for sfs extraction, I use a rather old program now - sfs extract;
it extracts the complete sfs file or only parts of it and the best thing is it conserves the file structure of the files inside the sfs...

for the time being, if you need the Burma map, leave your install as it is, it will not hurt anything and it will be upward compatible if Monty decides to release now WAW parts; just do not copy over the mapmods folder then :)

best regards

Dear Grifffon,
just a last question (maybe I should post it in the technical help section? I wouldn't like to bore you.)
Where should I have placed the "whc_Jungle.tga" to get the map working?
Best regards.

Hello guys,

I've seen something in the first post about updating hashes, do I need to change something in some notepad file?
Or just extract the download in the main folder and overwrite as usual?
