That's a shame, as 4.12 in its current form is useless for night fighting.

That means I won't be adding these to the Lancaster, Wellington etc as part of my Bomber Command Mod as 4.10 is the only real possibility for night fighting and the RAF mainly carried out mining missions at night.

Sorry all

OK I hope to have solved the problem for 4.10.  :)
I re-wrote the aerial mine class for 4.10 (too many changes in 4.12 from 4.10 in key methods - it was necessary to go the same way once again from the torpedo.class, but this time taking the 4.10 torpedo.class as a basis.)
Gabriel, Max, Slipper or whoever is ready to volunteer, can you give this a try:
https://www.mediafire.com/download/wcek1zz8g8px1p9/_AMines410test.7z

Desactivate your current AerialMines and AerialMinesDemoPlanes folders and install this folder instead
(Do not forget to disactivate the entries you made in the air.ini for these planes)
Then choose the He111H6 - it will offer a LMA_I mine among its weapons choices (the last one)

Can you test it and see what happens? especially when it explodes at the passage of a ship or when the He111 carrier plane crashes in water (I cannot test this in the old 4.10 install I have still on one of my hard disks as it has a bug and crashes when an actor dies).

Quote
as 4.12 in its current form is useless for night fighting.
Slipper, why do you say that?  If you have a 4.2 install what's the problem?

Hi DreamK!

Thanks for your effort, this is a very interesting project! I've tested the 4.10 classfile (I'm still on DBW 4.10 + Engine Mod 2.6): CTD when mines have hit the water, near target.

Great news Dreamk

Sorry away with work so wont get the chance to try the 4.10 version for a few days.

4.12 introduces a java file called vis.check which is responsible for the visibility of the AI. This is great for day missions but at night it makes air and ground AI virtually blind, hence they cannot detect the enemy unless extremely close.

If you couple this with no realistic ground control to vector the AI to the vicinity of enemy planes, then night interceptions are nearly impossible.

The vis.check file also means that a lot of CY6's C&C mod does not work either. In my opinion this is a must have mod for nightfighting.

Sputnikshock also realised this and made a little headway into solving it, however he hasn't been heard from since Christmas time.

Hope this explains to you mate.

Thanks again

CTD when the mines hit the water for me as well. Sorry.

CTD solved after coping 68AB5AB62FA645F6 classfile from 4.12 to 4.10 testpack. Unfortunately the mines don't detonate ner target...

Meanwhile here's the update for 4.12
It includes 4 additional US mines, which java files got forgotten i the first release, though the mesh folders were present, and cod files for the following planes that get now mines added to their present array:
B17E
B25J1
B29
G4M1_11
H8K1
HE_111H2
HE_111H6
IL_4_DB3T
PBN1
RE_2002
SM79i
TB_3_4M_17
TB_3_4M_34R
TB_3_4M_34R_SPB

(also included in the !_AerialMinesCods are the meshes folder and java files correcting a mistake in the original G4M1_11 class - now the bomb bay doors are closed when small volume bombs are in it and open when large cumbersome mine or torpedoes are int - and adding hooks for the central attachment point under the fuselage of the TB3, so as to be historically correct)

https://www.mediafire.com/download/8r4vof71l27n51x/AerialMinesv2_4_12.7z

Erase the former _AerialMines folder and the AerialMinesDemoPlanes Folder, and remove the entries you added to the air,ini files for the demo planes
Then just drop in your mods folder the two folders included in this new archive (_AerialMinesv2 and !_AerialMinesCods)

Enjoy!

Hi! Dreamk
At the beginning, I would like once again to thank you for your work and effort.
Thank you very much.  :)
I found a few bugs in C.U.P:
in the SM79 both mines "float" in the air:

I also have a problem (SM79) with the selection of weapons in the FMB, no weapons, during a mission also:

in G4M1-11 Mine_JJ "protrudes" slightly outside the the fuselage

I also have a question whether you are planning in the future, a similar solution for the Ju-88, A-20 ?.
Sorry for my English.
Best regards,
Piotrek
