A catalog of the various mines in the pack: from top to bottom - "Open" designates the mesh of the mine while suspended to the parachute, "Sea" designate the mesh of the mine floating upon the surface of the sea (a few mines only - most are under sea level)

Piotrek, these are the usual bugs of the QMB - they don't display the conditional mesh methods, but these display correctly in the game.





The Ju88 is in the process - but I am not sure that the A-20 were ever employed for mine-laying. The aircraft were chosen for mine-laying mainly in accordance of their bomb bay dimensions or the possibility of having strong external bombs racks. For instance the He111 could take 3 LMB or LMA on a special ventral rack or, use the the two torpedo racks for mines. The B-25 bomb bay was short but wide and deep and this made the Mk13 and the Mk24 the mines of choice for this plane. The B17E bay doors allowed to take longer mines such as the Mk12, and of course the B-29 was the best mine laying tool due to its dimensions. The PBY was widely employed by the Australian and it is lacking here (I made these cod files for core aircraft only present in basic 412m Modact 530 install)

Is there any work being carried out still to make these compatible with 4.10 please mate?

The reason i ask is i am keen to add them to RAF Bombers for historical loads. But as the RAF  mainly carried out mining ops by night, and 4.12 currently is not very suitable for night ops, i would like to get them working for 4.10 if possible.

I have a little java knowledge, so can help with testing if you like?

We have been trying to understand what happens in 4.10 and it appears that to make it compatible at this present stage would need to modify a full lot of core Il2 files. So the best approach is to re-write the code of Aerial.mine class for 4.10 ab initio. I'll try to see what I can do - but my possibility of testing in 410 are very limited and this complicates the job as you need to constantly check whatever new method you include in the class.

Ok - here's the pack for 4.10 - I used the LMA-I and the Torpedino beta as test beds and they work without problem, so I don't expect problems with the other mines.

I had to rewrite the AerialMine class and each individual mine class in order to eliminate the methods that have been introduced since 410:
1) the FragileTorps
2) the airbustABcontainer explosion
3) the torpedoEnter_Water explosion
It is increasingly difficult to have mods written to 412 suited to 410 as too many changes have been introduced in critical game classed since 410. It is worth thinking of upgrading key mods developed for 410 such ans C&C to 412 standards - it will be considerably easier than the opposite process, as the 410 methods are generally still present, even if not called in 412 classes, but of course some 412 additions may need to be slightly modified.

Thanks Dreamk, really appreciate you making a 4.10 version mate. Won't get chance to try it until later tonight but hopefully all will be fine.

I mainly fly night missions mate, and 4.10 is the only real possibility at the moment. I totally agree with you about upgrading mods to 4.12 standard, but some of the mods affected are quite complicated and their creator's are not modding any more, it's therefore difficult to see who would take on the task.

Added to that 4.12 in its default version is not suited to night fighting, this would need to be possibly changed by the developers.

Slipper could you expand on this subject of night vision in 412? beyond this file vischeck.class (which concerns the AI) what else is involved in this problem?
