AEG G IV

The AEG G-IV was the twin-engine German bombing for actions at short range, with Gotha and Friedricshafen constituted the 'backbone of Boghol, reliable and excellent load capacity had the defect of the short range, the excellent facilitates and safety allowed, however, to be able to do even more actions per night, used from 1916 until the end of the war on every front was much loved by the crews.

EXCELLENT!  8) beautiful bomber for our WW1 IL2-1916 skies!

Thank you GIO !
Also thanks to DreamK, Mission_bug Pete, Mikoyan and Stalker!

Here is an interesting fact...
A single example (number 574/18) is preserved at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum.
This example is significant not only as the only one of its kind in existence, but as the only preserved German,
twin-engine combat aircraft from World War 1.The aircraft was brought to Canada in 1919 as a war trophy.
It has been at the museum since 1970.

Great to see this finally added into its own thread in the WWI section Gio. 8)

Such a great pity Max that there are so few of these old aircraft preserved, thankfully some nations and individuals had the good sense to preserve what they could for the pleasure and education of future generations. ;)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Hello guys, here is a link to the latest update of this aircraft. ;)

Mediafire:

https://www.mediafire.com/?yzga75cczkjp2uz

Currently running in my DBW 1.71, in DBW 1916 and 4.12 with SAS ModAct 5.30.

Please remove the previous version folder as the cockpit and gunner stations are new with a renamed him and certain entries in the java have been altered accordingly.

The air entry remains the same.

PuW bombs by: Dreamk.

Slot by: Mission_bug from a original by mikoyan99 from the Suparmarine Stranraer (Permission was granted by the author to use his work).

Default skin: Stalker.

Elements of the mod: 1C Maddox Games from within IL-2 Sturmovik 1946.

A texture was used from a frankenplane by Bison_M to allow the renamed Bombardier folder sight to work.

This update uses Gio's original 3D for the cockpit and gunner positions.

Starboard elevator now works.

If you wish to use any skin other than the default you will need to change the Skin1o in the cockpit and gunner folders so it matches your prefered skin.

The control column, steering wheel and rudder bar work, however, there are no working switches or instruments at the moment.

Bombs are the PuW by Dreamk, three loadouts.  However, they were made up as I went along so may not reflect the actual loads used for which I have no specific onformation.

The bombs are allocated to the hooks currently found in the Right and Left WingIn.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

That looks BEAUTIFUL!

You have brought another classic aircraft to life once again for all to enjoy flying and
to also pay respect to the old time pilots of World War One!
Thank you Mission Bug Pete!

Hello guys, glad you like it so far. 8)

I need to find information on the various levers you see in the pit, hopefully then I can seperate them from the rest of the 3D and make them move as they should.

The instruments I have no idea how to make myself so the only option will be to use some that already exist in the sim and try and position them over those on the
panel, just need to find something suitable and the time to do it. ;)

If anyone has a image describing what each lever, button and dials funtion is that would help considerably as I have nothing in my reference library on this aircraft.

Lovely aircraft. I immediately downloaded it and added it to my 1916 installation. A company called Wingnutswings produce a 1/32 scale model and the instructions for assembling it can be downloaded. They contain a little of the information you would need but far from all, I'm afraid.

Seems I missed this new bird.....
Thanks to all that worked on this project!!!!!!

May I ask would it be hard to add a rudder trim?
Great bomb sight but it is hard to use.  The Bird pulls to the left.
I cut the right engine and still not able to hold course to target .

Just asking no big deal.
