Bristol F2b for "DBW1916"
« on: July 03, 2015, 10:41:24 AM »

The Bristol figthers

The Bristol F2b was the best multi-role aircraft of WWI, effective as two-seater fighter, fast as light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft remained in service until the '30s as a trainer, his project line was present in the RAF until the 40s with the Boulton Paul Defiant and Fairey Roc.

For D/L URL is ;https://www.mediafire.com/download/ix8tqxq8i2iy3ml/Bristol-F2b.7z

For the skin use the folders:Scout_Mk1(ru)
For download see in the WWI skin section.

Can I have not changed anything in the cockpit of the pilot, because I have not tracked in the folder dedicated to him.

I used the slot of U-2VEX1(ru)

Credit for the originals frankenplanes (I hope):

Greetings Gio

P.S.:This is my last airplane for the season, I hope to take to make MOD dedicated aircraft of WWI but at the moment I do not see developments for "DBW1916" and "DOF" does not seem as successful MOD pack dedicated.

Gorgeous as always guys, thank you very much, greatly appreciated. 8)

Working on the slot:

The rear gun hooks are done and the single forward firing one.  Not quite sure about the exact position of that forward
gun, in R.O.F in seems to be slightly offset to port but I cannot actually tell if it fires through the grill.

here it comes out that black hole in the grill. :D

It has proved to be a little troublesome but I am getting there. ;)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

That looks great!
I never knew it had a machine-gun shooting from the front engine grill.
I really like the design of this aircraft.

Hello guys, here is a release for test of the Bristol in it own slot. ;)

Mediafire:

Link removed by author as new one available in a post further on.

I still have a lot to do it but for the moment time is up so I am releasing as is because I am not sure when I will get back to it.

Bristol F2b by gio963tto.

3D model: gio963tto.

Default skin: Stalker.

Classes: Pete Shaw aka Mission_bug from U-2 4.10 dumped classes.

FM: Points to the U-2 for now.

Currently running in my DBW 1.71.

Place the folder for the Bristol-F2b in your mod folder and add the necessary entries:

Entry for air.ini:

Bristol_F2b              air.Bristol_F2b 1                                    r01 summer

If you wish to have a Self Stationary plane add the folder PS_Bristol_F2b_SSP in your mod folder
and add the folowing entries:

Entries for Self Stationary Plane:

[Self_StationaryPlanes]

Bristol_F2b      vehicles.planes.Bristol_F2bStatic$Bristol_F2b    2

//===================================================================
//
// Self Stationary planes
//
//===================================================================

[Bristol_F2b]
Description    Bristol_F2b
Icon           Plane
Class          air.Bristol_F2b
PanzerBodyFront      0.004

This is still a work in progress, the controls have yet to be seperated and applied so you can see them move in the cockpit.

You can enter the cockpit and gunner stations, however, while you can actually fly the aircraft the controls are not yet set up to move.

There is one forward firing gun for the pilot and the twin guns cockpit can be used.

Note:  I had a issue with the rear guns where if I moved them to the left I could see another set move the opposite way.  I cured this using the Matrix tool, however, in doing so it now gives a strange looking view of the guns texture.  It may be mapped upside down, who knows.

The view of the gunner station and gunner you see when you look back is fixed, for some reason the moving rear gunner is not visible so I thought this was best option for the moment.

Bombs are by Dreamk, they need the hooks moving slightly upwards to hang properly on the racks.

Self Stationary included in download:

Things to do:

Seperate the pilot controls so they move.

Fix any views that have holes etc.

Add bomb racks under the lower wings to hold the very small bombs that could be carried.

Add proper WWI skins to the crew.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
