The Jet Age Pt-06

MAINTENANCE - NEW RESTORE POINT - AI MOUNTAIN CRASH FIXED
**************************************

SASEngineMOD and the Stupid 412 AI
Some time ago TD412 introduced many good things and a few problems; such as AI flying into mountains under certain circumstances.  Western0221's latest patch brilliantly fixes this but is incompatible with PAL's Chocks Mod.

In time we expect the Chocks MOD to be back but presently the EngineMOD and Western's AI Crash Fix must take priority for mission builders.  We have to use the Restore Point Install method this time because this fix involves more than just adding new content, some things have to go...

**************************************

RESTORE POINT INSTALL TYPE:

1) JSGME DISABLE everything prefixed #CUP and #JTW

2) In your Main Il2 directory rem out (rename with a -) your current #JTW to -#JTW.

3) UnZIP/UnRAR 'C.U.P.- Module 04 - The Jet Age Pt-06' direct to your Il2 Main Directory and allow overwrite.

4) ENABLE JSGME Options to taste.

5) Delete old -#JTW at your convenience.

6) Check that you are up to date with the SAS Modular Map Expansion - SASMME PART-12

7) Install SASMME PART-12 - Easy way, just drop it all in...

**************************************

FIXES AND MAINTENANCE

1) SASEngineMOD-2.7 with Western0221's Patch + G-Suit + Carriers + Steam Cats + Beacons + Smarter AI

2) MiG-15/17 Nudelman N-37 Cannon sound corrected.

3) AIM-9B totally fixed.

4) A-4 Skyhawk Closes canopy for naval operation.

5) Improved Hind FM, courtesy of SAS~Bombsaway

6) Avia-S-199 FM and QMB Fixed + Cockpit repaint pk57

7) New style of planelist with manufacturers

This aircraft mod, still beta, is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen in Il2.  The 1946 Seafang lost out to the Hawker Fury and only 18 were built.  In an ideal universe this would have seen more action; so we have to have it in CUP.  The late production date, and the sheer perfection of the Seafang, see its entry into #WAW and #JTW simulataneaously.  Not 'what if', more 'if only'.

F-16 beta v1 Ranwers
https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,46374.0.html

A difficult gestation for a complex mod saw the Viper pass through a long process to get this far.  The cockpit is excellent though, we have a working HUD, and the 3D model is superb.  The Mavericks work and the CCIP is perfect.  There may be room for further development but we are ready to fly this F-16 right now!

The chief wizard of Frankenstein's Hangar continues to provide us with more diversity.  This is a really great set of models that add more 'Cold War' ambiance to 'The Jet Age'.  Big thanks to Bison_M!

These superb modern aerobatic aircraft are also used for initial pilot aerobatics education, flight training, and participation of pilots in aerobatics competitions and air shows, as well as for maintaining flight skills of military and civil pilots.  Taking them up for a joyride is just that and I think we should make some airshow missions too.

Nice one, Monty. As well as all the additional content, good to see the little niggles are getting ironed out as well.

Thanks again,

Thanks mate, I'm sure a lot of people do understand that this is one of the most complex mod compilations in Il2.

The Jet Age has so many new functions and new code that getting it running this smoothly, and so stable, has been no small task.  User feedback is invaluable, because nobody can be everywhere at once.

To have 'The Jet Age' at this level of content, and a simple drop-install, is very pleasing indeed.

I'm back to writing campaigns and missions for this module now, the sky's the limit!  ;D

I nstalled all latest modules, with the maps module last. I get a 70% CTD with The Jet Age. Dof and WaW are fine. I run a "clean" CUP, no extra mods added
EDIT~ Here;s the last section of the logfile,

Simon
Not a shabby job everything is working fine all birds are up and doing what they are suppose to do. And not just jtw but all three modules are working as stated.
Now to your internet problem why so backward hookup go to and use a sat hook up get a dish and if I remember right there is 4 sats you can grab in your area. The dish you need is reasonable just a few pounds sterling and the software you can ether buy or find on the net. The cord. just look them up via the sat name which is public knowledge.
The only items that might give you greif is the wet season, sun spots, and solar flares

@ kingsley - Right, gotta go wireless...

@ cgagan - That's a missing plane/classfile.  Can only suggest re-download or re-install.  It is also important to note that the JTW Part-06 Install comprises a self contained #JTW folder and you must actually throw away the previous #JTW folder up to that point.

Thanks Simon, I followed instructions (red/l and re-install The Jet Age) and I still get the 70%CTD

Thank you very much, Monty and, of course, any and all others involved!

Of note (though worked around) I ended up with a 70% CTD when I applied the update(s) but through my log files I was able to narrow it down to a java error when trying to load something related to the Hannover ILS beacon deal. I had this issue with the original install of the whole CUP from fresh and worked around it by REM the lines (//) in the #JTW stationary and technics calls that related to ILSBLBeacon and TacanBeacon and this allows me to launch and play. With the new update, the issue re-occurred and I did the same thing to work around it again....

I hope I can figure out those dang AGM on the F-16 as I can't ever seem to hit anything... Lol..

Cheers and thanks once again from a very appreciative Il-2 player!

UPDATED: Decided on a fresh install of game and CUP as I had some maps not properly loading.... Fresh Install EVERYTHING works - no fiddling required.

RESOLVED: Issue: My own ignorance - Still can't seem to hit anything with any type of the AGM65 missiles :-p

(Also, nowhere do I see or have access to any of the frankenplanes or the new sukhoi acrobatic planes....)

(Found the Sukhoi's and the frankenplanes... I can fly the sukhoi's and see them np, but the with frankenplanes  when I put them in a mission I do not see them when they are controlled by AI - however if I make them the player controlled plane I can use them np).

Cheers to the team!
