Install issue
« on: July 07, 2015, 10:30:11 AM »

When I install it, it asks "please put  installation Disk 2 into the floppy drive and press the ok button ..." what the fuck?
First modpack asking for an official DVD? Put mine into it and nothing happened.

And...offf!

PS: My apology for the respectless speech there, I tried really! long to download and install this pack and once I finally had all files on top of 4.12.2 though, follwing the insctructions at derrierloisiers, this is what I had gotten.

---nevertheless my apology for the rant.
Of course I own a legal copy of IL-2 1946...but the install procedure here seems porked for my DL version of HSFX 7. And that was the  3rd try minimum.

Tom2;
not sure why you are being asked for DVD at all.  I have HSFX and at no point in the installation process was I asked for the DVD.
You may be missing a step/instruction.  Double-check (although you probably already have) your files and the instructions.
Worst-case, re-download HSFX files (may be a corrupt file or something along those lines).

Good luck.

Thank you tomoose for the quick answer! Yes, at some point I will re-download, given the fact I did ca 3-4 times already.  ;D Thanks, maybe a usual install bug, I am sure HSFX 7 is fun..

Given the fact I only wanted to test ONE plane there, maybe the entire operation was a bit redundant. :D
Cheers

HSFX installation doesn't need the original disk. Are you sure you have patched the game till the latest version before installing HSFX????

PA_Willy: After having read instructions I found one that allowed a clean game patched to 4.12.2 instead .1, so I tried that method. Me thinks either the download was corrupted or the install definately called for 4.12.1.

Cheers

I had this happen a while back.
After much frustration I worked out that  it was a file placement problem.
that is to say, it was caused by my having  saved multiple backup copies of Il2 and after updating to a newer version
the computer was simply  loading the game from the top file which contained the original game
and would  ask for  the disk to load on start up.
The solution was to rename the older folder and the problem went away.
