70% CTD on all modules
« on: July 19, 2015, 08:23:26 AM »

Not sure if this has already been addressed, but I read about 70% CTD on WAW, but I'm getting 70% CTD on all modules, I tried all 3 expansion modules at the same time, crash, just one, crash, not sure what the problem is.

TT - understand your frustration but understand that with the number of people who have viewed your post and zero response means no one has an idea what is causing your CTD.  When viewing your log, I see nothing that shows an "error", but I'm not an expert on java coding.  All of my CTD in the past were all recorded in my log file as an "error" then a few more lines then the end of the file.  If this is the last part of your log file, there is nothing that shows an error so there is not a way anyone will be able to help you.

best bet is to start over with a clean Il-2 game.  Double check the dates on your CUP downloads as I know there has been some of the original files that had minor problems in them, were fixed, and then re-posted.

I restarted from a vanilla Modact 5.3 Il-2 multiple times, re downloaded the modules from the SAS website and tried installing all modules individually and still nothing.

at the moment it kinda feels like an "unofficial summer break" (eventough its winter for a lot of CUPpers :) )... i guess a lot of people are taking breaks, busy with RL, enjoying summer (or winter... hello australia!)...

i have absolutely no idea about the specific error you are getting, never seen it.

the vanilla modact 5.3 installation, did you start it up and test it, to see if it works properly? are you sure the folder structure from your CUP installation is correct? (some people had problems with extracting the CUP archives into the correct locations). example for my WAW:

G:\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 Modact 5.3\#WAW
G:\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 Modact 5.3\SFS_WAW
G:\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 Modact 5.3\SFS_MAPS

etc.

have you made sure to use the mediafire downloads to get all the latest packages for each CUP-Module - the Torrent file most probably is outdated and might cause problems...

sorry if these are just general hints that might be totally obvious to you... maybe it helps anywhow

Thanks for the help guys.

First warning for this.

Storebror told you to read the announcments and rules in Nov 14 (you are here since 2010 btw).

Seems you never did, otherwise you would know this:

Quote
We are not a support forum, and thus, no one HAS to help you or answer your question.

and here:

Quote
That we permit people to join this group of maniacs, participate, or just download and use the things they make, is just a friendly gesture from our side, it is not a contractual obligation for us to serve you.

remember this next time before insisting on help in such a way.

post a relevant log.

and this is a reminder to all other guys who think SAS is a 24/7 helpline desk. It is not.

What I said was out of place, I admit that, I was just very impatient and frustrated that I tried so many things and nothing was working.
