I was thinking I could change the title of the thread, and invite others to post CUP-compatible DCG campaigns or their links here. For example, I have a campaign called Italian Invasion of British Somaliland coming up. I would post the campaign in its own thread but put a link in this sticky so it would be easy to find. I will also invite other DCG campaign builders to post a link in this sticky and I would put it in the first post. I would want to rename the sticky to something like DCG campaigns for CUP. Does that make sense or am I being silly?

why not making a new thread " DCG campaigns for CUP"?
In this thread you could invite others
to post CUP DCG campaigns etc.

This I could set sticky then...
and unsticky the campaigns threads as it would not be necessary anymore.

Your process to ensure leading the squad sounds correct.  I will do some experiments myself and figure this out.

I expect to have the P-40/P-51 campaign available on M4T about one week from today. Much of that time is testing, so if you want to test along with me I can post files here for temporary download. I could have that available around Saturday morning US  Pacific Time.

thank you for your time.
hope you can find a solution to be able to "command" the squadron

i will be out this week but next weekend i should have time to play, and to help you make some test about P40/P51 if you need

I am doing some experiments to see what happens. If I don't get any answers I will post the question over at Paul Lowengrin's site.

I have completed additions to the DGEN directory files that I need for the P-40/P-51 campaign. I just need to upload it to the download file on M4T. I will try to do that later today or tomorrow (I am in California, US).

I have been able to reproduce the Squadron Management issue. I do not think it is particular to this campaign (I reproduced the issue in the stock Murmansk campaign) so I have posted a question on Paul Lowengrin's site. He has not had a chance to answer yet.

Welcome back from your holiday!

Ok, the download at M4t is now at version 2.1, which includes a P-40/P-51 campaign. You will fly the P-40 in Operation Husky, the Invasion, and the Gustav Line. In the Gustav Line, your P-40 squadron will receive P-51Ds to replace the P-40. If you start with the Gothic Line campaign, you will start out with the P-51D. Be sure that you choose the last plane selection and the last squadron selection to make sure that you get the correct aircraft replacement in the Gustav campaign. I have not tested this, but I think that if you choose any plane but choose the last squadron in the list, you will also switch to the P-51 in the Gustav campaign. I hope that makes sense to everyone.

thank you for the p40/p51

one question: i have to install the new "version2" over the already installed "version1" with "overwrite", or i have to remove the "version1" before ?
and for dcg do i have to do something to let dcg use the new version ?

Your existing campaigns will be fine,  so do not delete anything.  Copy the files from the War over Italy folder into your existing folder and allow to over write. Do the same with then Dgen folder. The latter has the new campaign.

i made some tests on P40/P51 and it works, ready to start the campaign

two question;  during these weeks i made tests and every time i generated a new mission in dcg to "get" the changes to the configuration, but i do not understand if each mission i generated after the tests/changes is a mission "i lost" because of the test (so maybe the campaign will develop in a different way because of the many "generated mission" that i did not played ?; in other words maybe it's better i reinstall dcg from scratch to restart the "generate mission sequence" from the beginning or it does not matter ?
i hope you understand my question ... english is not my native Language

any news about "the rank" of the pilot and to give orders to other planes ?

I'm not quite sure that I understand your first question, but I think I do. When you generate a mission for an existing campaign, you are simply replacing the mission (or your flying assignment) for that day. So, in short, I do not think you are "losing" missions. There is no harm is starting over though.

I have still not heard anything at Paul Lowengrins's site. If you do start a new campaign or generate a mission make sure that Squadron Management under options is checked:

Great work vonofterdingen.  CUP is the most comprehensive Il2 Modset ever made, so it makes sense to start tuning up DCG to match.  Thank you.  ;D
