Maybe we try to focus on important bugs and come up with always been there bugs later, most of them Vega did not produce anyway.
But last day I found that the PFM I usually fly had no aileron trim. I have no idea if it had one earlier.

WHat I like to know: Can someone fly the PFM version and tell me what happens when blown flaps are on, I get the same error the MF version had before.

Well, of course 3D is not my era, but AFAIK there  was a hotfix for this, must search the thread tomorrow. If I find it I send it.

BTW..off topic, do the Migs have aileron trimming?  :-\ I ask because my stick is busted and with older jets I could trim it out.

IRL they had trim for every axis.

Another thing - the steering and brakes. The steering was done using differential brakes with one lever (to increase pressure in brakes) and rudder pedals - with changing the rudder position the pressure was divided to each brake. (That is - what is default for most tailwheeled prop.planes in IL-2)

Also, can anyone tell me if their radar is working? For me it is not working all right...

Maybe give an example of what does not work and on which Mig, so someone who flies radar operating Migs can try. :-\

WRT the mentioned blown flaps issue, that is not a big one for me as I can fly this jet without use of them anyway. ;) What is relevant is to check if certain issues are install related or global, e.g. 4S_Vega already told me his install does not have the PFM blown flaps issue.

I think we should start test them Mig-21s in a clean new CUP with only the necessary jet updates and high res mods. I admit that sucks as the requirement would be another new IL-2 install in my case or some cases. I have reached a sim overdose point that makes even small adjustments painful, a new install always sucks :P . Anyway, I think it makes sense to have a global test bed as without doubt the current IL-2 (except 4.09m and us rebels) standard is 4.12.

Long story short, I think I will switch my current online install for a new CUP install, which may also be a good basis for future online Mig-21 flights, what do you think Koty?

RADARS:
It only shows targets (search mode). I can't move gates nor can I lock a target. Does not work for all the MiGs. But I think it is individual bug. I'll join a log later today.

I have clean modacted game with not really that much mods. From jets those are 90 % of those "updated" by Vega, Mi-8/24, Su-7 frankenpack... and that's all I think. Also the prerequestive planes and packs (like common utils and so) - maybe I have one too many of them.

SWITCHING TO CUP:
...dunno 'bout dat...

Added repaired PFM cockpit canopy reflection file to 1st post. Gets rid of mirror mesh shadow on upper view of the PFM cockpit.

I have found this as an schematic explanation of the landing process for the MiG-21:

Regarding some last discussion about exactly how were the flaps of this planes, in the DCS MiG-21BIS are clearly stated these controls:

So they only had 25deg and 45deg fixed positions.

Another thing is that they had Level Stabilizers ("Auto Pilot"):

And it seems that they had Stabilizer trimming, something that was not implemented in all of them.

Vega, I'm going to normalize it in all of them, because there still are different settings. Later I will share them with you.

The DCS manual is of a simulator, but it seems to be very comprehensive, and definetly the guys who wrote it had access to real MiG-21s planes or documentation.

Ok, but pls don't modify the MIG_21 parental classfile, because i'm working on it to modify flight parameters

Touch only single plane.class.

So, i will release the 1.3 when you will finish your work ;)

I have already made changes to it. But those are clear and evident. I'm going to send you my sources with the explanation. It would be quite easy to merge them.

I can say that any other 21 had this system of flaps. (Some had SPS, but I still can't find info about how it is engaged, I'll try to find out in the original manual I posted before)

As for autopilots, at least MF had Recovery function and stabilization function - it works against wind oscilation, highspeed oscilation, quite usefull at landing - there it softens your wobbling with joystick.

For those who have the final Grand Canyon map, a 15 min track, some Mig performance demo. 1 landing.

Not brilliant but shows a bit of what the Mig can do.
Place into "Records". :P And do not take my landing style in that one for textbook approach. Simply shows you can land them on flaps 1 and even with a bit of sloppiness and corrections well over the runway. In RL I would have qualified for a stressful debrief with the wing commander.

G meter for some reason works not when Quick Track for record is used.
