"Updatable" static aircraft mod at Aviaskins
« on: April 10, 2010, 11:46:57 AM »

This is a continuation of an older thread now defunct; I finally got Aviaskins's marvellous updatable static aircraft mod working! I installed the mod, DID NOT disable the static aircraft mod (the later one, with Cirx's inclusions of 4.09m aircraft) and copied to my stationary and technics.ini files (STD folder) ONLY the lines of the aircraft that interest me (in my case, all tropical Hurris, the Lancaster, Halifax, the Typhoon, all PZLs, the C-32 quater, and the Bf109B2). I copy/pasted the lines in the relevant sections in both .ini files and not under any new heading. I now have all these aircraft as stationary. I hope this will be useful to anyone interested. Congratulations once again to our Russian mates for an excellent mod!  8)

yes, this is fine mod, but I have problems with the last update - Lancaster, MiG-17 are seen in FMB menu but I can't select them :(

Can't tell about the Mig; I am no fan of jet aircraft so I haven't installed any of them; the Lancaster though should appear and be selectable; check your stationary.ini and technics.ini lines again, perhaps you are missing something.

If somebody could walk me through this, I'd appreciate it.

I placed the static a/c folder in the MODS folder
copied & pasted the list of a/c to the bottom of the stationary.ini file in the STD folder
copied & pasted the list of a/c to the bottom of technics.ini file in the STD folder
None of the new a/c show up in my list of stationary a/c.
Where did I go wrong. Any help appreciated.

No, it does n.t work this way; as I stated in my first post, I copied all lines related to the planes I wanted in the relevant sections of my stationary.ini and technics.ini files (where the other stationary planes appear). Aviaskins static aircraft mod appears first in my MODS folder, immediately before AAA's static aircraft mod, enhanced by Cirx with the arrival of patch 4.09. I did not disable that mod, and I too get duplicate planes (the spit1 appears twice, as I installed it now, but it did not show before), perhaps the two mods complement each other, but I wouldn't know...
EDIT: Follow Gerax's post

Link (with Google translate), click on "Fashion for IL2", then "ready to d/l" and you'll see the post:

D/l ONLY the first part (the static aircraft mod, 18/3)

Hi all, just downloaded this to give it a try.  I did as cgagan indicated, I tried the Dh-89 as a test.  No problems just added the necessary text from the supplied Static and technics files and there you go, one Dh-89 static.  Avia skins are really good to us aren't they. 8)

The only difficulty I had was the static aircraft showing the Finnish Blenheim skin.  I tried to change this using the skinmod, no joy.  I eventually had to add my files to the summer folder in the Suka mod folder.

Thanks very much cgagan for letting us know this was available :)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;)
