Hi one and all, and thanks for CUP!  I'm having a ball with Dawn of Flight right now.

But I've got some problems.  The DOF skinpack works beautifully in DBW:1916.  But the new skins don't appear at all in DOF.

For example, the skinpack has French, British, Russian and Italian skins for the MF.11.  They're all in the right folders in my CUP installation.  But all I can see in-game is the 'Default' skin.

The other skins don't appear in the menu.

Any ideas?

You can copy the #DOF PaintSchemes folder into the PaintSchemes folder in the games main directory or rename the PaintSchemes folder in the main directory to something like PaintSchemesMain and copy the #DOF PaintSchemes folder over thereby keeping them separate. Then you'll have the WW1 skins. (Hope you can understand that)

There were two Farman packs so the folder names are probably for the older one meanwhile the included mod is the newer one, so you need copy the files manually into the correct folder (the air.ini's first column is the paintschemes skin folder name for that airplane).

vp has the solution: DOF uses different folder names than DBW:1916 for some types. 

Skins for the DBW:1916 M.F.11, as an example, go in "MF11" but in CUP it needs to be "Maurice_Farman_11." You can find the folder name in air.ini (thanks, vp!)

So rename "MF11" to "Maurice_Farman_11" and VOILA!

I think I'll update the skinpack so it's got the latest folder names.  Is there any objection - in principle - to me doing this and sharing it somewhere?

It's a tedious job and I might get bored and stop halfway through, but it's worth doing.

I'm glad that my advice worked. I dont use DOF so I was just guessing. You can make a patch for the skinpack. I'd do it by creating a bat file which deletes the old folders and copies the new ones in place. The only pack where the slot names were changed is the Farmans so the other skin folder names should be ok.
