Two possible CUP problems SOLVED
« on: December 29, 2015, 12:56:08 PM »

Hi, after installing parts 15 - 17, I noticed two things: the Seafire Mk XVII doesn't apear anymore in the QMB. And there is a possible mix-up from files between the Polikarpov R-5 and the I-16:
The R-5 use part of the I-16's windscreen.

Hi, although I seems to be the only one with these problems, I saw some more oddities with the Seafire XVII: if I select the Seafire Mk XV in the QMB and than go to the arming screen, I can choose and see the Mk XVII. Only the weapons load out is at least 3 times there, and when chosen I have another strange thing:

Hi, tried to re-install CUP to see if any of the problems would disapear; no luck! Problems remained as they are in the screenshots. Tried than to insert the classfiles from the Seafire mod into the CUP install, that didn't help either.   ::( So for the time being I've rem'd out these two planes, waiting for a solution. If anybody knows in which SFS the R-5 and Seafire XVII are, I could try to alter these.

Hi. I had same problem. I have again reinstall  only part 17. it means deactive all prefix with waw in jgsme  and than install part 17. All spitfires works but still I have same problem with TB-3( this issue  is already  mentioned  in tech-help).

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,40022.0.html

read here for a possible solution to your Seafire problem...I have tried and had the same troubles with this beast as you guys head; doing what Stefan suggested has cured the problems but I cannot vouch for a fully working Engine Mod afterwards...alternatively, just rem out that Seafire...it has never been used in a campaign AFAIK and therefor is rather redundant anyhow...

the R-5 pit looks the same here and it should, after reading through the R5 flyables thread...so that seems to be a non issue...

Wow, am I that daft?? I would have killed anyone who said that this is the R-5 canopy. On the Seafire front; I have an 'old' copy of CUP in which WAW56.sfs is the highest number, must be updated till pt. 13. In this version I have a nice 'single' weapons loadout and a plane that functions normal. Or at least as far as I can see. So the offending file must be in WAW57 till WAW69. Hope someone will find and repair this as the XVII is such al beauty!

As posted I think the problem is the engine mod...try using the engine mod from your old backup install instead of the new one...just a try but remming out the two classfiles from the thread i gave posted solved the problem for me....

Hi Griffon, thanks again, remming out these two files made the Seafire operational again.  :)
