Missing full throttle flames since WAW #12
« on: January 04, 2016, 08:12:59 PM »

This conversation was going on over in the CUP Lounge area but I thought it should be continued over here.  Hopefully, more people that can help will see it.

Several people have reported this problem and I also tested it to confirm.

I rolled my install back to WAW #12 and the flames return so there is definitely something that has changed since then causing the full throttle flames to go away.  I tried about 5-6 things that I thought might fix the situation but, no joy!

Hopefully, someone will know how to fix this.

** EDIT ***
The BF-109 is the only aircraft I have found that still has the full throttle flames?

I first noticed the loss of waw flames in the golden age download,i asked monty about it and he replied that the mods hooks where separate from others and shouldn't cause interference or problems, but in the latest updates the flames have gone from my install on every aircraft except me 109s,i cant find a way to correct the problem, anybody got an idea what it might be,love the waw flames effect and hope it can be resolved kev.

i have it up and running in pt17 - downside is, it needs a few more (class)files to make it work and that way it is not a clean waw install any more...
but for me, it is ok :)

the problem with that, is that you'll likely encounter problems with any future waw addons, surely?

ehm not really...actually i did not experience any troubles so far at all; the mod consists of two folders, one with 2 classfiles and one only containing the enginewep effect...
loaded up before the other mods, it has not failed me so far...and if there are troubles, all that needs to be done is rem both folders out or simply delete them...

*whispermodeon* i am running some highly modified sets of modules containing loads of addons (ships, objects, tanks, vehicles) containing loads of classfiles as well and the modules run stable and did not cause troubles at all; even updating them when new waw parts come along is fairly easy, following a simple workflow*whispermodeoff* :d

'whispermode on' - would you mind up'ing those two folders for me? - unless you could tell me inside which CUP module i might find them - i have all the CUP modules, but not yet started the actual install - what i'm trying to do atm is perfect my Modact 530 install, which is currently at the best stage it's ever been. 'whispermode off'
getting these fx to work in that would really be the icing on the cake.... :D

Griffon, can you please send me the flames fix you use?  I would like to try it and then pass along to Simon so it can be incorporated in the next WAW release.

*cough* I can provide a link for the stuff that I use, but these are actually old files, coming from newTFM/DBW times; the classfiles may or may not be compatible with what CUP uses; I have not experienced any strange things yet but still, as CUP is Simons baby and his reasoning of tidying up classfiles as much as possible is very sound, I do not want to get in any stuff unofficially that may not be compatible with what Simon wants to achieve;

for this reason, I might provide a link but will warn people that they will use these folders on their own risk .....

good call, Griffon - i know full well how this particular mod can mess up a lot of others, if not done properly.
while i don't mind experimenting on one of my numerous installs, i certainly wouldn't advise putting up a link that less experienced guys could get hold of - then we could be sitting for weeks on end in the forum helping guys fix their broken installs.
