Since this mod uses the default Hurri II cockpit, that mod should work here too.

Quite possible.
The core message however is that since this Mod uses the default Hurricane II cockpit, any "opening canopy" mod working for that cockpit, e.g. on the Hurricane IIB, would work for this mod too :)

well, i went through my Hurricanes, and although i just tried that HurricaneCanopies mod, it makes no difference to what i already have.
the 3 classfiles with the HurricaneCanopies mod are all included in the SAS Hurricane pack, so i've left it out.
moreover, if i disable the same 3 classes in the Hurri Pack and use only the OpeningCanopies Mod, then also a 30% load freeze/crash, much like Gerhard had...
of the Hurricanes i have, it's a mixed bag.
here is what i get at the moment - (this is currently as good as it gets, and it could certainly be better)

Seems like to avoid compability issues, the only way to get an open canopy to work smoothly is to assign a dedicated cockpit to this hurri, even if it shares 99% with the existing one.
I'll take a look at it.
As long as there's not too much difference between the base game version pits, I might add this feature, otherwise I'm sorry but for the sake of compatibility I'd rather leave out the opening canopy than starting to create a dozen different mods for different game versions.
