hi all
i used to have this nifty object, but seem to have lost it somewhere along the way.
it's mentioned (and linked) in this post, just a little way down - in the 5th picture, showing a guy on a ladder,(you can see the ruler in the pic) just below that pic is a link to AAS site, which i'm not registered with, and seriously aren't gonna register just to get this one tiny little object.

For those wanting to leave the flat ruler in their missions (or map in my case), it is best to define it as a plate in your static.ini like so:

[buildings.Plate$Ruler_KDP]
Title           Ruler
Mesh            3do/Ruler_KDP/mono.sim

The file posted by Skylla has static entries for a building type object, live and dead mesh pointing to the same files (plate0.tga and plate1.tga) which confuses the game (in playing mode). It looks for some files representing the damaged object which it cannot find: you get a FPS hit if you fly over them after foolishly placing 200 rulers on your WIP map.

Hopefully nobody will want to use 200 rulers in a mission and leave them in....
Understood, these objects were created just for use it in FMB/FMB+ and not for permanent residency in a maps/missions.

Sorry to revamp an old post...but the object is very useful and after the today release of the giant square...maybe someone could reuse it!

Moreover I discover that adding it as a plate instead of an object leve it slightly above the ground and the vertical portin remain visible....
