CUP messes up and shuts down with no error report. I have read all of the posts but can't seem to figure this out.

besides the log, please also provide some specifics as to what exactly you mean by 'CUP messes up'.....
we aren't mind-readers here, so let us know exactly where and when the problem happens - during loading screen? in this case, we need to know the % loading point crash.
or is it when the game has loaded? in QMB? in FMB?
it's impossible to help anyone who provides as little info as you have. so please, as much detail as possible...
and i'd ask you to edit your post title - HELP??? is the last hting we want to see - edit it to show us at a glance what is being referred to - in this case, CUP crashing would be better.
imagine you are sifting through thousands of tech help requests, and they're all titled 'Help!' - absolute nightmare - so do us this little favour, please.

When trying to start a mission everything is fine for a few seconds and then locks up. I hit the escape key and then CTD. This also happens even when I try to start a mission that I created in FMB. Also there is no error log in my root folder.

okay, thanks, we're now starting to make a little progress, but now give us a better picture of your CUP install. first off, what version of the game did you build CUP onto?
is it from the original 1946 CD, GOG version, Steam version, which....?
and as for CUP, what exactly have you installed with CUP, and have you followed the instructions correctly?
if your game loads, and works up to the point where you can start a mission, and you can use FMB, then you must have a log, unless there is some other problem such a Windows permissions issue - what is your directory structure to your game install? - eg: C:/Games/IL-2) .....?
by default the logfile is called 'log.lst', in game root - do you have such a file?

Also there is no error log in my root folder.

The error log file (originally named log.lst) is made in the time you set the value forcing the game outputing the log in conf.ini , that is written in the linked topic. Don't you do it?

have GOG version and updated to 412.2, Modact 5.30 then all the map expansions in order to 14 and WAW to 18 SWOTL in order. I have a file now. How to upload it please.

How about your Windows' User Account Control (UAC) and Virtual Store ?
And where / in which drive letter , which named folder do you install your IL-2 game?

When you install the game under C:\Program Files\ or C:\Program Files (x86)\ , all the files output there are redirected to the place of Virtual Store and not found in the game folder. Then you have to look into the folder of Virtual Store.

The setup that was indicated to you is to generate a log, not an error log. Read again carefully, set it up carefully, close the conf file and reopen it and check your changes were taken into account,and find the log in your CUP directory after you play (with or without crash).
