My directory is : C:\IL-2 Sturmovik 1946 CUP : and that is where I have been looking for the log.lst and it's not there.

Please post screenshots of the folder you open with Windows' Explore file manager.

are you still posting pics of the rest of the folder, because the file we're looking for should be further down...?

Your conf.ini has the same section and same entries twice.

First LOG=1 , but second LOG=0.

By such non-standard written conf.ini , the game cannot work.

You have to clean-up doubled entries and sections carefully (not to delete non-doubled necessary lines), after it, rewrite the values 0 or 1 or texts you want.

yes, as vpmedia has just said, you need to sort out your conf.ini file and eliminate those 'doubled' sections.
it's a wonder your game is working at all with the conf.ini in that state....

I dumped that post because I noticed that the log was posted...anyway the first thing the is not an usual error message:

"Cannot setup 3d algorithm.Settings will be reset to DEFAULT."

I've never seen this before but my guess was stereoscopic 3d mod, then just to be safe I did a google search, see what the first result was: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,25781.msg267501.html#msg267501

Then I looked at the conf.ini and what do I see:

I feel uncomfortable because our advises helped or not unclear to solve your 1st problem (even 2nd problem newly coming), and also unclear you've done something regarding the advise or not done about another advise.
