Aircraft Armor/durability
« on: January 24, 2016, 04:26:54 PM »

Hello there,

I recently got into playing IL 2 Sturmovik 1946 and wanted to try at changing some values before really making anything more complicated. But after a lot of searching there is a few things I still don't have total understanding of.

Do each individual aircraft have their own armor layout/stats/durability? Where would this information be stored? Likewise is it possible to adjust the stats of a aircraft's engine?

All value of each plane are lock in the bottom  file and CANNOT be change.  If we want the sim stay a realistic sim...  if everybody could change speed ,  clime rate,  armor and any other flight characteristic of is favorite plane how would you explain been shoot down in a mustang P51 by a ww1 biplane :D

+ 1 for VonW's post. this is not the sort of info that will be handed out in public.
learn this stuff yourself, which included java programming, and when you show us that you are really interested and trying to make realistic mods, you could get invited into the private area where you can learn even more, but this sort of stuff is most certainly not accessible in public, and most certainly not to new members with no track record of modding.
that's just the way it is - figure it out for yourself, by all means, we can't stop you - but we won't be handing any such info out in public forums, that's for sure...

This sort of stuff is also considered cheating and sort of makes it unfair for online play and stuff.. And it's not very nice...

why the face, Rick - that's only if he shows us he can mod, and it doesn't seem like that's going to be any time soon....  :P
besides, i'm not a big fan of that sort of selective quote, which in no way represents what i actually said.....
i remember a dude in this community who made a habit of that sort of selective half-quote, who went be the name of Ace of Aces - remember that twit? he was not well liked, suffice to say....

Nuu, I wasn't talking about him, lol, I was talking about someone else, I mean we all know him, but you know, he just has his priorities all over the place. ;D And sorry about that, but I just find it easier to like, specify things than making a massive post :-X Sorry if you took it another way; I didn't mean that Blaze would be getting invited if he did, or that he'd get invited at all; I mean to emphasize on the Private area, which now I realize, hasn't got the 'Top Sekret' / TopGun names we used to give it  :(

I don't see the point in modding to cheat when the game itself has an invulnerability option already. I mod games for fun  :D But that's okay, thanks anyway. I will figure it out myself.

Well, believe it or not, they do, and invulnerability doesn't work for multiplayer; as far as I know. 8)

Don't worry, we all have our own purposes for modding too; I do mine purely out of fun and passion.

Anyhoo, good luck!
