Setting to remove spent shell casings
« on: January 25, 2016, 04:20:06 PM »

Have CUP modded and running through part 17.  In JSGME, I have CUP FX Small collection, and WAW FPS 4 JC EFFECTS enabled.  Used to be, the Fx Small Collection mod would remove spent shell casings, leaving only the smoke.  Now I have both smoke and spent shell casings.  Is there a setting than can be changed, perhaps in config.ini, to shut off the spent shell casings?  Its a minor thing, but it does cause a small drop in FPS, and I've never really cared for them anyway.
Thanks in advance if anyone has a solution.

Did you try the many combinations of effects and sounds?
Maybe there is one who could do it?
If JC effects are those causing the casings to appear (against CUP FX Small collection) did you try to load FX Small after JC?

seems like funny emoticons that explain nothing is all the rage lately...
the face says nothing - it's my job to make sure that the correct advice is given to newcomers, that's all.
if someone gets given the wrong info early on, it can cause serious problems for them later.
would you prefer i just keep quiet and let the wrong help be passed on...?

I'm not on my rig but JSGME simply enable mods....

....this mean that enabling two mods that have similar files inside could be unrelated to their final loading order....

Simply look inside the two mods and look at what effect 'll modify....you can discover if your desired effect can be achived from a simple JSGME loading order or if you need to extract what you need and create your personal dedicated jsgme mods addition....

Did some try to remove spent shell casings from FW-190A?
In real life MG FF and MG 151 extract only links, casings collected in recive compartment.

But Holywood dumb standards.........

All good Malone, I was humbled by the pertinence of your point. I will not use emoticons anymore. Thank you for the warning. I also understand that giving wrong advice is detrimental.

The real trouble about posting words (mainly common speechs) and emoticons is due the different origins of the various members....what is meaning something for me can mean something else for others....but the important is speak about and understand each other at the end....at the end we are all virtual friends....isn't it?

yes, please don't get me wrong - i use emoticons each and every day, lol
the only thing is that some of the emoticons are sort of ambivalent, and if they are used without any comment to go with them, they can  easily be misinterpreted.
don't let me stop you from using them...just make sure to post an accompanying comment that helps to get across what you are saying.
the big smiley and sad emotes are easy to understand, but most of the others not really, without accompanying comment...
all good, and yes, walter, i'm sure we are all still great virtual friends.
the main problem with humanity as a whole is that we are all essentially the same, but without something in common, it's difficult to make the steps to being friends. it's probably been this way since the dawn of man... :D
the great thing about a forum like this is that we all have something in common, so it's much easier for us to be friends and get along than might have been if we met in real life, but didn't know we had something like IL-2 in common.
anyway, good times all - this forum is like an oasis of joy in a sometimes quite bleak reality.. :D
