Decided to go back to my roots, plus with the iconic months of the Battle of Britain around the corner I may do some screenies marking as a testimony to the greatest aerial conflict here in UK skies...

Loving your screenshots mate.
My Rowan's Battle of Britain has a mission with nearly 200 aircraft!
Hopefully you can do something similar, maybe not quite that scale.

This isn't rogeroger's map is it?

Morning all,

Many friends and aces on here wished to know where I work and what it contains... well gents, enjoy this rare opportunity I had to photograph inside the Kent Battle of Britain Museum. As usually cameras and phones are banned due to requests from the families of those who perished in 1940 but also to prohibit theft attempts as the collection is very valuable in it's rarity.  8)

Please note it was the first 2 hangars that were permitted to be photographed as the Armory, Operations block and the V-1 shed were still prohibited.

Hey mate,

The story of the Whirlwind cockpit is to build one from scratch with what paperwork and blueprints survived from Westland.. sadly many of the drawings and specs for the aircraft were lost in a fire so sadly they no longer exist, but with dedication.. also utilising specs from model kits as well as internal close up photographs? Both we at the KBoBM and the Whirlwind preservation society are teaming up to build a complete aircraft, the first built in this country since 1940. She's practically a resurrection of an extinct aircraft and we're on the road to achieving the impossible with this project. :)

All the best,
Eric

Like asking a parent to name a favourite child, I know...but the Whirly's my favourite aeroplane.  ;D

Great to see the old girl on the way back. A while ago now, I was gutted to find out during a semi-regular 'Whirlwind' google that Stuart Hawkins - A.K.A 'Mr Blue Sky' from various flight-related forums, and a force of nature as far as knowledge, research and generally getting things done Whirly-wise - is no longer with us, I'm sure he'd be pleased with how things are coming along. I bet the Whirlwind Preservation Society still miss his badgering.  :)

Cheers for the update, with everything going on, I'd kind of lost touch.  ]salut[

This evening's flying, this time testing our Tobi's (Knocken's) amazing project work on the Me-262... I'm not going to lie but she deserves this make over and detail additions, you can see the improvements instantly.. the cockpit work is impressive, also the effects he's added such as the flame start of the Jumo 004B's which did happen.. the sound for this aircraft is also accurate.. and for me it does raise the hackles, when the engines start and when you power down.  8)

Thanks Tobi for this refit of the Schwalbe.. keep up the good work buddy. ^-^

Good afternoon friends and aces alike,

Yesterday heralded the return of the Folkestone Air Display in 2023, it was a huge step up in the right direction for well, what I class as the resurrection of the Folkestone Airshow after a large gap after 2014 which remains the last 2 days event of flying...

The aircraft which appeared are as follows,

Battle of Britain Memorial Flight
RAF Aerobatic Team, Red Arrows
Stampe SV.4 Team
Richard Goodwin, Jet Pitts
RAF Typhoon Display Team
