Hello All.

Firstly i'd like to say i'm very thankful and appreciative of this community existing and helping people out with the problems they have and for all the mods that really makes il-2 what it is today.

My issue is with HSFX is it keeps crashing in game to desktop. I have installed HSFX and made sure that it shows up when the loading screen is there at the beginning. I have been conducting a controlled experiment of sorts. I opened the JSGME switcher that was provided with the HSFX installation. I have only loaded few of those mods. These are the ones..

1) HSFX History MOD
2) Expert MOD
3) Perfect Textures MOD
4) Tiger Flyby's

What i did is take them out on by one and retry the same mission under quick mission so as to keep all variables the same including the map and planes used. Just a simple 1vs1 same planes P-40M starting at 1000m no air defences. Now it loads everything perfectly. I get into the plane and i'm flying, I throttle up to full and head straight waiting to see the label marker of the enemy plane. This is exactly when it happens. It feels like just before the plane's label tag appears slowly from a very dim blue to a darker blue i just get a warning saying il2fb.exe has stopped working and whether or not i'd like windows to search for a solution. Obviously no solution is found and i get a CTD. As i mentioned before i did this 5 times removing each mod one by one till i was back to Vanilla 4.12.2m. Only the HSFX history MOD causes this to happen. I'm still unsure as to why? and why it occurs only at that moment when you are almost in visible range with the enemy aircraft. Is there any help i could get from anyone about this problem if they have maybe experienced the same occurrence? Please and Thank you very much

I figured it out last night I'm just gonna compile one post with all the problems i faced and how to solve them so people in the future will just be able to find it all in one place with all the troubleshooting problems so that they won't have to go anywhere else or won't have to search around for days with no results.

Never mind - got it fixed I think
Seems I didn't look at the forums before posting
In my defence I had just drunk quite a few beers 
I need to manually install the 7.03 patch rather than use the Auto Updater

if so, this thread is a total waste of forum space -
others have helped here, the least you can do is post up your solution to help others.
with no solutions available for others - well, if all threads went this way, then we might as well close the public forums and revert to closed, private modding.....

I have the 7.0.3 manual update on my machine - and it solved my problem 

Do you think it would be OK if I put it on Mission4Today for others?

Or am I asking the wrong person?

i could be the right person to ask - only, i'm not sure what exactly you're asking, lol -
the manual update for 7.0.3 is already available (linked) here in our forum, if that's what you're asking about.
it's always a good idea to read some other threads in the forum, to avoid posting up duplicated info.
