I'm a bit sad, in all previous CUP updates the Spitfire Fr Mk XIV worked ok. After 20 I'll get a CTD at 70%.  ::(

O, and I would have preferred to see the Karabas-Barabas, adapted by Guzknife Yak-1's in stead of the SAS pack. IMHO the KB version is more authentic as it had 3-d stuff and load-outs for all its correct named variants.

Hi Gerax, the Fr XIV is an extra added mod. I havn't checked but, I'm afraid there's no logfile  as the game crashes to desktop before the loading is complete. I'll check it in a couple of minutes.

Edit: Learned two things: 1 there is a logfile, even when CTD at / after 60%. It reads:

Code: [Select]
[7:40:38 PM] FM called 'FlightModels/Jeep50.fmd:WAGEN' is being loaded from File: 'wagen'
[7:40:38 PM] FM called 'FlightModels/Jeep50.fmd:WAGEN' is being loaded from Alternative File: 'wagen'

[7:40:38 PM] at com.maddox.il2.game.GameWin3D.main(GameWin3D.java:235)
[Feb 10, 2016 7:40:38 PM] -------------- END log session -------------

Hope it says more to you, as I only see something 'GUIQuick' seems to be missing

2 The Fr Mk XIV is no longer here at SAS (?) If needed I can supplie a copy.

All these other mods you are suggesting mate.  That's fine, any links?

You are finding out that integrating this stuff, especially mods and classfiles pre-412 - into 412, is no picnic.  But lets at least share the material and I will be happy to have a look as well.  How can we comment or help with stuff we don't have?

Henkypenky, is this the Spit Fr XIV you are trying?:

comes with this air.ini lines:
Quote
SpitfireFR_MkXIVE    air.SPITFIREFR14E 1                     NOINFO  gb01  DESERT
SpitfireFR_MkXIVE_CW  air.SPITFIREFR14E_CW 1                   NOINFO  gb01  DESERT

or another one? Then give a link please or when this isn't available
upload the mod so we can try it.

I was wondering about that "5C2." Never noticed a Spit in Il-2 with that designation in lieu of the Roman "V."
Thanks to you and Forager for the remarks. I'm sure this glitch will somehow be eliminated.

Point of embarrassment: Hadn't noticed the Arabic numerals in the air.ini list before.  :-[

Re: MkXIV: For what it's worth, my WAW air.ini list doesn't include the FR versions. All I have are a SpitfireMkXIVE and a SpitfireMkLFXIVE. These work fine in the QMB.

Edit: Should have stated earlier: my presumption is that the FR version is not a "stock" WAW addition; hence its absence from my WAW air.ini.

Hi here are the links for the Karabas / Guzknife Yaks:  Karabas: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,33666.msg363360.html#msg363360 , Guzknife's adaption with some Jero refinements: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,33666.msg506146.html#msg506146
This mod doesn't need the JSGME canopy mod as this is integrated.

Spitfire Fr Mk XIV uploaded to my own Mediafirepage: https://www.mediafire.com/download/lz9c708mr8v3t0v/Spitfire_14e_bubble_top.rar Dont know who made this as there's no name in the read me. All credits to this unknown modder.

Warning: the Spitfire does NOT work in CUP 20

Spitfire Fr Mk XIV ...Dont know who made this

its a GJE52 mod.
Credits were: Crazyflak - Clever stuff, Jaffa - Griffon engine sounds,
Epervier - Stationary aircraft, GJE52 - 3d work.

This is correct. For now forget it as there is no support for it anymore I fear.
But maybe a modder/coder jumps in and repairs it to have it working in CUP?

Spit FR XIVe and CW WORK BOTH!!!

just follow the advice in post #33 from here: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,8702.24.html
and copy over this classfile into the classes.objectsair folder AFTER remming out the same (but smaller and differently dated) classfile there;
afterwords, add the Spit FR XIVe folder BUT: there are two classfiles inside starting with zz...
delete the zz from the name of the two classfiles AFTER remming out the two same named classfiles that are inside already;
you should have two classfiles starting with a - then and the two that were named zz... before should be named only with numbers...

after that, the game loads and the Spits work, even the K-14 sight is fully functional!

Hope that correction will be included in next update, because it seems a bit confused...
