Vehicles are visible but do not aim or fire at the enemy.

The fact that they do not aim may mean the AI is not functioning as expected. Another possibility would be the animations/hooks are not correct. Strange one.

I reverted to WAW Pt18B and the problem still persists. I reverted by using the #WAW folder from Pt18+18B and remming out WAW70.sfs. No JSGMEMODs activated.

I think we need more people to test this. The black death track shows it too. The columns don't fire at the IL2s when I use WAW but work fine if I select stock 4.12.2 or SAS Modact 5.3 in the selector.

@asheshouse, when you have time, can you check if you have anything added to your #WAW folder or your SFS_ folders or anything active in JSGME so we can replicate your conditions?

Ok think I nailed it. Several vehicles in the WAW20 technics.ini do not have FireFastTargets set to 1

They include:
BA_64
FAIM
LVT_2
M8_Greyhound
HoRo_MG
Tatra_OA30
Nimrod
Sdkfz251
DemagFlak
SdKfz6Flak37
OpelBlitzMaultierAA
ZIS5_AA
MaximeGaz
M3A1_APC
M16
M16_US

3 of the vehicles are in my test mission and the Demag and SdKfz251 are in the Black Death track.

Seems to be fixed now that I've added FireFastTargets 1

Edit: looks like the technics.ini entries are the same (at least for the demagflak) all the way back to the initial release of CUP. Has the default Car class behaviour changed from a default of shooting at aircraft to a default of ignoring them unless FireFastTargets 1? I'm pretty sure I remember initial troubles in the black death track after CUP's release with the tracers freezing.

If its now working that's good, but why is it working ok in my install, complete up to Pt18B, and not in the later version?
I have no FireFastTargets setting for the M16  and MaximGAZ vehicles in the test mission.

Maybe it will stop working when I add the pt19 and pt20 patches?

Most wide ranging change in these last patches is the Command and Control mod I think.

I have now taken the plunge and patched up to WaW Part 20.  :)

The test mission is still working fine. All flak guns firing. I've changed nothing.

In JSGME I have enabled only:

CUP - Forgotten Countries
CUP - TB Skies
TGA - SCW
CUP - Mission Pro Combo
SAS - Flyable AI
SAS - CTO Mod

Me too.  :P

Moezilla, I did what you adviced above and edited the WAWs  technics.ini,
now the mission works OK. Many thanks for finding a fix.  ;)

I downloaded pt20 again just to be sure that to not have a outdated pt20-WAW,
tried with this and: no AAA.  :-X Works only when I replaced the technics.ini
with the edited one.

Have also tried the other modules (with reworked missions to have a working plane there  ;D):
no luck in TGA, JTW, there the technics.inis also needs to be edited.

In DOF at least the "WWI Lanchester" worked without editing,
but ie the Reno_Dual does not. I do not know wich vehicles in DOF
should fire as AAA at all, so its hard for me to test this. Maybe someone
with more knowledge about DOF could do this?

I went through the vehicle and artillery entries in the WAW20 technics.ini and found some duplicate sections. Although some of the values/parameters under the vehicle sections differ between the duplicate sections.

I guess the first one in the file will be used so it might be worth checking which one is the best fit for CUP.

Here are the doubles and one triple (Coelian):

MatildaMkII_UK
MatildaMkII_AU

M4A2_US
M4A2_76W
M4A2_76W_US

Tatra_OA30

Well Done Moezilla

I have just started to work through the technics file myself as I noticed there was a lack of flak in 4.12 compared with DBW. So you have saved me a lot of time.

Am i the only one that has it working ok "staight out of the box"?

How does my instalation differ from others?
Clean install from CD then patched to v4.12.2, then CUP installed.
Installed in c:\Games

Moezilla: have the same MD5 data. So its not a corrupted downloads issue.
