Realist ground impact
« on: April 11, 2016, 06:55:42 AM »

What is the best mod to have realistic plane impact on the ground in DOF?   Not really imersive to see my WW1 fighter blow like a B17 filful of 500 bombe when they hit the ground lolll. I would like to see a cloud of dust fallow by realistic fire or something like that.

;D Good point. There were a few large bombers with relatively large bomb loads at the time, but a shock wave does seem a bit much for most of those wood-and-canvas kites.  ;D

What you mean is not suitable for WW1??
We just need a other mod we could apply on DOF when a plane hit the ground , something doing a  realistic effect like rise of flight maybe  ,
A small explosion , little bit of dust trow in the air, some fire and smoke , nothing not all ready available

Maps are inadequate. Cities are not characteristic from that time. The game was intended for WWII environment...
Also, engine sounds are inaccurate. Same for machine gun sounds. Models damage both in air after hits, and at ground impact are not typical for airplanes from that time.

Oscarito you are not aware of the reality of Il2. Maps of the period with highly detailed cities as they looked then have been developed (Astrakhan, Poland 1919, etc...). Same for machine guns sounds and engine sounds. The damage effects in air depends to a large measure of the modders who make the plane. The issue of crashing is a real issue. Java engine specificities have been developed and released. An updated version solving some engine bugs is under pre-release testing.  Il2 is quite suitable to ww1

It seems like the thing to do is have no explosion or minimal explosion when a small aircraft hits the ground.

Is it possible to set the size of the explosion when a plane crashes based on the amount of fuel and/or ordinance on board?

Thank You Mr. Dreamk for the information about some developments I was unaware...
Excuse me Mr. vpmedia if my statements were a little bit vague...
