HSFX AutoUpdater Not Working

(1) Windows8 Laptop w/newer C++ than incl. C++ w/AutoUpdater pkg(issued Apr 2012) : http://www.242sqn.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=3309
(2) Installation issued msg. reporting "prob. w/install...newer C++ already on machine". Clicked 'Continue'. Rec'd "successful Install" of HSFX AutoUpdater"
(3) Ran 'Client_HSFX_Updater.exe' in HSFX directory.
(4) Rec'd error msg. box: "Failed to D/L Updates...Check your Internet connection, or try again later"
(5) My internet connection is running fine!
Plz Help
