Hi guys
here's a real head scratcher.  We have a new "noob" member in our squad. He has a brand new computer (built for gaming) running system 7 and a copy of my personal game IL2  4.12.2  HSFX 7.0.3

We got him all set up and he's been flying on his own without any problem.  Everything works great. Life is good!    But....

Every time he comes online and joins somebody else's server to fly a mission he looses all his control key commands.  When I say "looses" - his controls are all intact but none of them work

We've been working on this problem for over a week now and we're all totally stumped.

Has anybody come across this before and knows what is causing it.

Might be a username thing.
IL-2 internally does some weird UTF-8 conversion of usernames, so if a name doesn't contain just ASCII characters, the converted username might not match any of the entries in the "Users" folder anymore.
I'd give that a try before searching further: Let him setup a fully working user named "Testing" with all controls up and running, and let him connect with that one.

Other than that, it might also be the usual Alt+Tab glitch.
Sometimes the game window just doesn't get the focus, that's when my controls fail too.
In that case I Alt+Tab out of the game and either reactivate the window by mouse click (if it's available in the background) or Alt+Tab back into IL-2 again.
Usually after doing so, I have to double tap Alt and the double tap Tab afterwards, in order to release "hanging" states of these keys in IL-2.
