Analysing poor performance
« on: July 12, 2016, 04:48:12 PM »

I'm getting very low frame rates in any mission with a large number of moving pieces. This is the case with FMB missions and dynamic campaigns too.
I was wondering if someone more knowledgeable could have a look at a log file and see if they could spot any possible causes.
I ran vonofterdingen's mission found in this thread; https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,51818.0.html as it's a great example. I get maybe 20 FPS average when I run it in CUP, but it's fine when I run it in my VP mod pack install of IL-2. Disabling all the optional mods via jgsme has no effect.

Full log file here:

My PCs specs if they are of any use are:
i7-3820
GTX670
16 giggers of ram

I'm not sure those error or warning lines are the reason of your fps dropping ..... but.

Your log contains many error or warning lines that the skin texture graphics data files (.bmp) of pilot skins and nose-art skins are missing.
I have no idea from where you can get those needed skin bmp files , someone knows?

You need a filelist.txt for CUP in order to be able to extract and fix the contents in the sfs files and you'll also need a modder who is willing to test and fix the objects and vehicles which have wrong mat file parameters. Testing is done in the FMB with activated fps counter.

So, in other words, wait for an update and hope it gets fixed?  :)
