FMB mission file does not load
« on: July 23, 2016, 01:37:10 PM »

Strange problem I never experienced before.
When I try open my *.mis file from FMB menu (File - Load) I have either just empty map or empty map with message saying that data is loading. This message stays forever and mission file is never loaded. (See picture below)
It happened when I completed the mission creation and began to assign squadron numbers to all planes. Somewhere in the process I decided to quit for awhile, saved the file, closed it - and was not able to open since then.
If I copy/paste this *.mis file to \missions\single\XX folder, I can play this single mission through the main game's menu. Not without issues though, some aircrafts do not appear.

Probably experienced mission builders can give me a hint? Any advise is appreciated.

P.S. I could post my log.lst file but there are thousands line in it, I'm not sure what to copy from there.

Well... It's about 900 KB. Wish I knew what to look for. Thanks, anyway.

The problem is that when I close pop up window the map remains empty - without any objects, routes, etc. created by me.

Shift+Tab gives me the following - see picture below.
This problem happened when in the process of changing squadron numbers from default to historical (from object menu). And I see this line java.lang.ClassCastException: com.maddox.il2.ai.Regiment
Is it the culprit?

P.S. I edited log flie so to keep only messages as "error" or "not found", "not set" and deleted those which are repeated. But it's still over 2000 characters limit, so can't post here.

I would open the .mis is a text editor of your choice and find the map name then verify the map is actually installed in your game.

Thank you. Yes, the map is installed and worked with it for quite long time.

But I found where the problem is... next message.

This problem happened when in the process of changing squadron numbers from default to historical (from object menu).

I'm not familiar with that FMB feature.

Do you know which mod is responsible?...sorry I dont have CUP so I cant check.

I don't know which mod could be responsible (actually, I don't know how to check that).

But I decided to try good old method of rolling back last changes, step by step.
So, here is the "culprit" - squadron name I/KG4 assigned to flight of bombers. I changed the squadron to generic (g0101 or something like that) in text editor and - voila - my map is live again with objects, routes, targets. I changed it to Stab/KG4 - still OK. Back to I/KG4 - initial problem repeated, the map opened blank.
My bombers were Ki67 (yes, "alternate history") but I tried German planes as He111 and I/KG4 squadron made my mission map blank again.
Each time I learn something new in this wonderful wonderful IL2 world  ;)

One cold beer and back to mission making - now with more save/checks and with very careful squadron name selection. I/KG4 is the one I'll certainly avoid !
