Uufflake for two Dutch East Indies maps with Dutch names  :D

A Desert Map

Working with three environments the Western Australian Great Sandy Desert, Kimberley Plateau and sub-tropical Timor and surrounding islands I chose a desert map as the main environment since Western Australia is the largest land mass of the map.

Note Choose your skins wisely. If you don't a standard desert camo skin will show on the aircraft chosen.

The Load.ini

Hand jobbing this map thoroughly using a mix of painting map_h for Western Australia and painting Timor and surrounding islands tile by tile in fmb+ the load.ini is very very strange for most load.ini's.
I had to work with three environments on one map so this is why the load.ini is very wierded out.  :o

Note Do not try and repaint this load.ini it is too difficult to understand.  o_O
Note If anyone wants to repaint the map later pm me for a standard original 16 rgb map_T or a basic map_T of ocean and land only.

Note Be careful with SEChurch 10 as there is a typo in the static.ini. This could cause the map not to load. I will get an example of this shortly  :D SEChurch has always been a problem object because of the typo.

See this thread for more info about SEChurch 10

Final Update

https://www.mediafire.com/download/78gciughctwbqeg/FINALUPDATEWesternAustraliaTimor42-43.7z

4 textures revamped using the clone tool and Pixplant 2
map_h work Western Australia beaches and leveling lakes.
If a lake is close to the ocean I take it down to rgb 0. If it is way inland I use the airfield leveling method to make the lakes nice ,straight and smooth.
map_T added forgotten country road works at the bottom of Western Australia to Robourne and a dirt track from Broom to Derby.

Over write the revamped textures in the #SAS/MAPMODS/MAPS/_Tex/WATim folder
Over write the re worked map_h and map_T in the #SAS/MAPMODS/MAPS/WesternAustraliaTimor42_43 folder

The map was made in a the latest  Modact version for 4.12

All textures are included with the download please add to your correct folders in the main _Tex folder
Add the two main Sky texture files to your main _Tex folder
The sea port objects are included please add the sea port lines to your static.ini if you don't have the objects already.
Add the new all.ini ini to you maps all.ini

Enjoy flying over Western Australia and Timor

Soon to come a 43-45 version  :D

I have a great interest in the North West Area of operations which includes The Dutch East Indies, Australia the three states Western Australia, Northern Territory and Queensland and finally P.N.G and Dutch new Guinea.

Cheers

Thanks for the comments  :D ;)

From my memory of being involved with !L-2 since 2005 I have never seen this area mapped at all anywhere on the net.

I am still not happy with the two country area textures the mountain texture and the non desert rough looking ground texture around Corunna Downs as well as one spinifex texture .  :-[

I sure hope the landscape colours suit W.A. and the Kimberley Plateau I really needed more texture slots.

The new textures came from the region in Google earth I tried all colours from reds to deep oranges.

I lived in North Queensland.

There will be an update in a week or so for both map versions.  ;D To rectify the repeating pattern more so

Today or tonight a 43-45 version with Corunna Downs secret RAAF base easily flying in RAAF 25 squadron B-24's and a bomb group from the USAAF

If any loading issues don't hesitate to ask  ;D

Cheers

Has anyone successfully saved a mission on this in CUP WAW.  I am wondering if I installed something incorrectly or what, but I can see the map and explore it in FMB, but can't add a plane and fly around on it.  Just wondering if it is just me or if CUP installations required a tweak I don't know about.

Thanks for any guidance!

Definitely made in SAS Modact for 4.12.

I don't know about CUP as I keep my CUP stock standard no added mods.

Cheers

Thanks Farang65...Excellent Map!
Be good to update some older missions built on other maps representing Western Australia.

Hey Ibis, I'll be flying a 'captured' A6M so don't shoot me down when you get there! :)

csvousden  I had the very same problem you described.  After some searching I found that the SEA PORT OBJECTS entry in my static.ini was in fact missing the 'buildings.House$]SEchurch10' object.

I found a fix for this hopefully it'll help you too (Note: the fix was a simple copy/paste...ignore the spelling error mentioned elsewhere in the below link).

The Fix...

Copy the static.ini entry below...

[buildings.House$]SEchurch10]
Title           1SEchurch10
MeshLive        3do/Buildings/SouthernEurope/SEchurch10/live.sim
MeshDead        3do/Buildings/SouthernEurope/SEchurch10/dead.sim
AlignToLand     0
Body            RockMiddle
Panzer          0.2

& then paste it in your static.ini file (backup first) [your install folder\#WAW\STD\com\maddox\il2\objects\static.ini]at the bottom of the SEA PORT OBJECTS entry.

Here's a link to where I found the fix thanks to canonuk reply #91

https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,9939.84.html

Good Luck.

Thanks again Farang65 :)

Cheers :)
