Probably one of the last 109's produced during the war, this is an extremely rare Bf-109K-4/R6, produced by Erla of Leipzig, W.nr. 570375, the R6 being equipped with a BSK 16 gun camera. Painted in the distinctive "Erla low visibility" colour scheme of an all dark-green fuselage, it seems to have RLM 76 under the tailplanes, and the bare metal under the wings is speculation. As I understand it, very little is known about Erla built K-4's, and that the existance of any was uncertain until the photograph of this one surfaced. Note that it features a non-retractable old-style tail wheel.

The detailing on the rudder is a bit messy since the new mesh makes is all skewed and warped ...

This is a cracking skin mate and strange, Only this weekend I was asked by a member of the public ( because I depict Luftwaffe aircrew at Re-enactments ) how many Mark Bf 109 were made, and I hadn't got a ruddy clue.  Now we all know there were god knows how many Marks of the Spitfire there was, but I had never really thought how many variants of 109s there was...so guess who is now going back to the books!! thanks again for your fantastic skin...Gary
