CUP Crashes when I try to change video resolution
« on: September 17, 2016, 09:53:38 PM »

I can open CUP but it displays in a small window.  When I go to "Setup," "Video modes," the drivers are "Open GL" and the Resolution is set to 1280x720x32, with the selector set to "Full screen." When I change the video settings to 1980x1080x32 the screen goes to full screen and shows the window asking if I want to accept the setting, then the game crashes.  Here is the end of the log:

2016-09-17 23:27:04:493    (wrapper) : ThreadDetach, attached Threads =  10
2016-09-17 23:27:04:803    (wrapper) : ThreadDetach, attached Threads =  9
2016-09-17 23:27:04:819   (watchdog) : IL-2 Main Window destroyed: "Il2-Sturmovik 1946" (MaddoxRtsWndClassW), Handle= 0x0007070C
2016-09-17 23:27:04:819   (watchdog) : IL-2 main window (handle 0x0007070C) disappeared, checking process status.
2016-09-17 23:27:09:827   (watchdog) : il2fb.exe process is still running even 5000 milliseconds after main window has been closed, terminating process now.

Is there any way to fix this to go to full screen?

Thanks.

Your pasted text lines are not correct error log we need.

But your problem might not need it only now.

Do you read this topic? It may help you about editing conf.ini to enable changing resolution.

I had the same problem the other day, try deleting the ".last.quick" file in the "Quicks" folder in your il-2 root folder, it fixed the problem for me :)

I can't get the game to recognize my Saitek X-55 joystick anymore, even in the plain vanilla version.  I think I am going to have to shelve this game.

I could force the resolution to what I wanted by altering the config file directly.  I still can't get the game to recognize the joystick.  I'm at a loss what to do.  Thanks anyway.

Thanks, I'm going to try unplugging and plugging in the controls, maybe that will fix it.  Keep your fingers crossed.
