Hi everybody, I'm french so I'm gonna do my best to be clear with my explanation.

I downloaded Il-2 from steam two days ago with the 4.12.2m patch.

 I wanted to install the CUP mod, so I began with  [IL-2 4.12.2m Mega Patch] in main folder and then put [SAS Modact 5.3 for IL-2 4.12.2m] in the same folder.

But when I try to start the game from the selector, the splash screen appears (1 or 2 seconds) but then quits, and the game doesn't start.
Everything seems okay but I don't know why the game doesn't start, do you guys have an idea of what's going wrong here?

What module(s) did you have DLed?

If just CUP WAW through patch 20, you will need to open your Selector, then click on "Change Settings", choose the World at War 1936-1946 on the "Game Type" button at the top of the Selector screen, select RAM usage and click "Save Settings".

Just after those steps are you able to start a CUP module from the Selector.

for the moment I didn't DL any cup module, only megapatch and sas modact, I wanted to check if everything was running ok before DL the modules, but even with the selector on 'stock game', this doesn't work :/

Do you check playing OK before installing SAS Modact 5.30 ---- so only installing SAS Mega patch 4.12.2m ?

The game is running perfectly when I launch it from the Il2 1946.exe but not when I try to do it from the selector.

Well, now even with the il2 1946.exe the game doesn't start, I juste removed the game from the computer and DL it again tonight, I'm gonna try to mod tomorrow, hope it'll works...

Steam causes many users lots of headaches trying to mod their game.
I'm pretty sure several guys managed to get everything up and runnin with a modded steam il2, the bad news however is that none of them ever seemed to care to let other people know about what steps exactly made it work.
They come here, ask for help, get lots of help offered and once it works, they disappear without even saying "thanks".
This is your chance to make a difference

If I can fix my problems, I'll share the solutions don't worry ahah!
But one more question, if the DL version from steam is already the 4.12.2 m, do I still need to install the 4.12.2m megapatch in the folder, or it's ok?

4.12.2 is 4.12.2, there should be no need to install the Megapatch, but it won't hurt either.

SO, I just tried again after reinstalling the game and I can finally start the game from the Selector.
BUUUUT, a new problem now, I can't start any mission, there is the "Mesh3do/humans/paratroopers/russian/mono.sim not created" message that appears at the end of the loading, after a small research, I tried what you said in an other post (modif conf.ini), but it still doesn't work, even with the stock game.
Thank's for your help, hope I can fix all that stuff and enjoy the game soon
