Engine sounds for CUP
« on: October 09, 2016, 02:14:48 AM »

I have been trying to put together my own soundset for CUP but I am handicapped because I don't know what engines half the planes use. The latest sound matrix I can find is 6.9 and that only contains stock planes and a few others. CUP has the Lysander, Vildebeest and F6C4 Hawk, for example and I cannot find out what engine sound they use. It is the same with new mod planes like the Sunderland. I have read somewhere that there is a console command that does the trick but I cannot find it. I understand that the FM file contains the information I want but how do you get at it? I know there are other threads on this subject but none of them quite seem to answer my question.

Any help would be appreciated.

Quick question: Where do extracted .fmd and .emd files go when they're extracted?

Thing is, I want to toy around a bit with the .emd files.

EDIT: Overall, what I mean to ask is, how do you extract from the buttons file?

Thanks VP, that's very helpful. What I also need though is a way of finding out the engine sounds of planes that are not in a buttons file but have their own FM file.
