Questions about PAL Mission Pro Combo

Forgive me for being dense here but:
- What do those red/blue choices do when selected from the "Mission" drop down in QMB?
- Are they "canned" mission types?
- And how do you activate them?
- For Single Mission Pro what does the "Player/Mission Skin" toggle do?
