Is the damage model still WIP ?

A XF5U hit in fight lost a big piece , but this piece is not missing on the falling plane

Thanks for the report Draken.
Background of this issue is the special layout of the flying flapjack as a lifting body.
In IL-2 this gets simulated by merging the inner wing with the fuselage.
As a result, you cannot shoot off the inner wing part, but this was not reflected by the damage model (yet).
It is reflected in the 3D model by large "CAP" meshes for the inner wings which basically resemble the whole lift body / wing structure after all other parts have been fallen off.

Bottom line is that it'll be fixed in the upcoming update by avoiding the inner wing wreckage creation in that situation.
I've implemented that in my local WIP, it works.

Oh... did I say that the visual representation of cyclic prop pitch changes work as well?
For visual enthusiasts the next update will be definitely worth waiting.

Best regards - Mike

*bump*

Flying Flapjack v2 update available in first post.
This version contains a slightly updated flight model, an improved AI hotfix, new prop vectoring code with indepently moving cyclic and collective prop blade pitch movement, working cross prop shaft clutch code, cross version compatibility, custom skins and probably more I forgot to tell about - test yourself 8)

Best regards - Mike
