Gotha bomber
« on: November 21, 2016, 01:37:47 PM »

Gotha GIII/IV/Vb
The Gotha G.III/GIV/GVB was a heavy bomber used by the Luftstreitkräfte (Imperial German Air Service) during World War I.
The G.IVs were soon to be put to use in Operation Türkenkreuz - the strategic bombing of London.

Nice bird, well done Gio!
Too bad the skinner you've been working with has mental issues.
We've got many skinning experts around here, maybe for your next project you want to work together with a less problematic one ;)

Best regards - Mike

Hello Alfie, sorry to say I cannot replicate your issues in DBW 1916, all is good my side. ;)

There is a possibility that my game is not fully up to date and Istvan has added something that disagrees with the Gotha but
right now all is good:

As far as I am aware me and Gio have exactly the same packs and I do not think there were any last minute changes.

Hopefully somebody else can help on that one.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

Solved !

When loading the new Gotha's into your game (4.10) make sure to remove the other Gotha folder that's not relevant ( in my case 4.12 )

Alfie , you cretin  :D

These are beautiful a/c ........ stunning attention to detail  :-*
I've waited a long time to shoot through a G V's fuselage at an enemy below  :P
Who needs ball turrets when you've got a hollowed out fuselage.... :D :D :D

Cheers

Thanks guys, works fine in my DBW-1916. I tested all three subtypes an all stations (pilot, bombardier, gunner).

Thank you Gio and everyone involved in this project!
Wonderful Airplane!
Thank you!

Too bad the skinner you've been working with has mental issues.

How interested are you telling Mike about the state of health of some skinners (modders).
I always thought that you modder, but it turns out you're also a doctor - a psychiatrist. But, as a modder you know how to protect their secrets, as well as a doctor - not. Although one of the most important duties of a doctor - medical confidentiality. Maybe it is time to talk about other modders, skinners, editors - who have a physical or mental disorders? Make this a separate topic?

It's wonderful you characterizes Mike,  as doctor and modder, and most importantly, as a person.

All the best.

 o_O STOP!
Well, we have another example of the "cultural gap" that occurs sometimes on such an international forum.
The behavior that Mike understands as a "mental disorder" is just the surprising (in the eyes of unaware Western civilized people), unexpected, often aggressive and gross behaviour commonly encountered on the Russian forums.
Having been involved with Russians for quite long (and sharing my life with one, though, happily for me, she has overcome from a long time these classic Russian traits, if she ever had them :) ) , I've learnt to make the difference between mental disorder and "lack of manners" (not wanting to use here some stronger words to characterize this behaviour) , probably because I have the professional background to do so.
BUT for educated civilized westerners, the difference is difficult to see (in Western culture, education generally goes with good manners, and though there are always exceptions to this basic rule, these are uncommon  ;)).
Once this cultural gap is accepted as unavoidable, collaboration between Russian and Western modders or skinners is possible, even though some annoying "hiccups" may occur that need to be taken into their right proportion  8).
