Dynamic campaigns
« on: December 05, 2016, 12:48:31 PM »

Dear all,
I am using CUP WAW22.
I would like to install in my game campaigns designed with DCG.
But some campaigns are written for Asura dcg  included or not in the campaign, some others require Lowengrin dcg which should be installed separately following a very long readme. Finally I stay away from these campaigns for fear of spoiling my game.
Are no simple instructions available somewhere explaining the difference between Asura and Lowengrin and where they should be used?
I have read somewhere that CUP was ok for dcg and Sniperton built a tool for dcg compatibility with CUP but I don't know which one, Asura or Lowengrin.
My dream would be to simply "copy, paste and play DCG" but I doubt that it is possible.
Beforehand thanks.
Best regards.

My tool is for DCG campaign designers, you won't need if for a while yet.

Both 3rd-party dynamic campaign generators (Lowengrin's DCG and Asura's DGEN) are a bit complicated to use. This is because they are basically hacks to the game which wasn't designed for campaigns other than static ones (i.e. a series of scriped missions). The game simply doesn't make it possible to create dynamic campaigns in any easier way. So you can't get away without reading and learning.

I can't speak for DGEN, as I don't use it. As to DCG, look around here at SAS for dynamic campaigns made for CUP. Most of them come with detailed installation instructions. It won't be a milk run, but 'No Pain, No Gain'  8)

Edit: You can't spoil your game by using any of them. They simply generate, automatically, a new mission file each time you played a previously generated one.
