  • The download size of #DOF, #TGA, #WAW and #JTW folders is extremely small compared to the rest of CUP.
The main download quantity goes to SFS archives.
The folders mentioned mainly hold Java classes which are comparably small.
  • CUP has been developed for long time now.
In the beginning there was no "Safety Net" download, the folders held all files as required.
Just during the development time of CUP if became evident that the only "safe" way to have all folders updated correctly would be to add a "final" installation step which replaces all the outdated files.
  • Deleting the folders from existing CUP download parts would mean that all these parts would need to be re-downloaded again by all users to be on the same page.
That would indeed be many hours of download for nothing.

Best regards - Mike

You have misunderstanding, Mike
If you say so ;)

Sorry, but my double post , but i have found safety net in only 2 post and in only one i have add ...my very poor english
I have absolutely no clue what you wanna tell me with that line, sorry.

the downloads size is extremely small compared to rest of CUP ... and this is very good for alls
Isn't that exactly what I just wrote?

I did not criticize anything, but only suggest the possibility 'to download a few megabytes of less
Eh... you didn't get it:
The content which you're removing prior to the installation of the final "Safety Net" part indeed is just a few megabytes.
"extremely small compared to rest of CUP" as you've put it.
However you cannot just strip out that additional content from all the download parts without having to re-download all of them.
That'd be a few Gigabytes then, a perfect example for improving something for the worse.

Becouse i'm very happy of CUP in SFS files
Java classes don't got into SFS archives, maybe that's the missing link.
