Screen size problems~SOLVED
« on: December 22, 2016, 05:45:03 PM »

Hello, my brother is having a problem with his screen sizing in C.U.P.. He has a new MSI Gaming Series laptop.

I have had many problems with resolution, aspect ratio, etc before, but I was always able to solve by changing the entries in conf.ini. But we can't seem to figure this one out.

See here:

We can only see the portion of the screen shown here. Since the Options button is obscured, we can't change the settings from there anyways.

The resolution is set correctly, 1920x1080 in the conf. However the window still goes off screen. I even copied over a working conf.ini from a computer with the same res, but same result on my brother's machine.

Already tried changing the resolution manually, tried ChangeScreenRes, FullScreen, EnableResize, and SaveAspect. Nothing applicable in the logfile, just floatclamp and .eff errors.
Anyone have an idea of what could be causing this, and how we might fix it?

Thanks

Hello Cap!

Yes, its a scaling issue with new hardware.  Find the il2fb.exe, right click to set properties and then select compatability tab and then the option "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings"

Thanks to RDDR for recently illustrating exactly the same issue last week with a new monitor install also 1920x1080.  Boy that took us around the houses until we found the above thread.  The solution works perfectly.  ;D

Thank you so much Monty, that did the trick!

My brother had fun this Christmas week shooting down Migs in JTW!   :P
