Flight Models are a very complex matter, unless all parameters are the same, you wont get the same performance out of two aircraft. I dont know what Josse based his flight models on but I based mine on what I could find about these three aircraft.
I took the P-40B flight model as basis for all my Hawks as the P-36 and P-40 were very similar, in fact the P-40 prototype was a modified P-36A equipped with an Allison engine. That way I could give it believable flight characteristics compared to the stock Hawks. For example the diving speed was greatly increased, no more disintegrating at 600km/h IAS. The center of gravity also now changes with AoA and when retracting/lowering the landing gear.
I similarly crafted the engines to the point where I could achieve officially published topspeeds (480, 501, 518km/h respectively) at altitude.
