Production dates -
...
LaGG-3 4 series July 1941

 ?
    5 series June 1941, 8 series Aug. 1941

LaGG-3 11 series Jan. 1942

 ?
     10 series Sep. 1941
     15 series still 1941
     Jan. 1942 ~ 16-17 series

In the summer 1941 let out on 6 planes a day = ~ 2 series  in a month

Machine guns ShKAS weren't established about 75 planes of 7 series

As you understand I am trying to help. I am sure that since LaGG-3 was a Soviet plane, Russian sources are more accurate. Now about production peak, I read somewhere else that production peak was reached in May 1942 and stayed steady until November of that year. By May 1942 LaGG-3s were the 35% of all fighters in service, but this percentage falled after that date (increased Yak-7 production and more lend lease fighters I suppose).

Hi Folks,

I am a little new to adding mod files/folders. I am running IL2 1946 v4.101 with Modact 3.06 installed and nothing else. Here is my question.

I have downloaded and extracted the folders. My goal is to make the canopy on the LA5FN open. I see the "0Canopy_la-5" folder.

Where / How do I install that ?  Also - do I need to update anything in my air.ini file ?

Any insight or info is greatly appreciated.

Thanks - jg1234

This is a 4.09 mod , and it is suppose to work if you put the file in your MOD (#SAS) folder. Make sure you got it with right folder deapth.
it should be IL2 folder\MOD\The mod you install\3do or classfiles or similar.
It is quite possible this mod does not work in 4.101. You must add the air.ini files that is written in first post

SAS~Le0ne,

Thank you very much for the quick reply and all the good information.

What you said makes sense. I will install this tonight. Thanks also for letting me know about the air.ini entries. They all had LaGG-3 in the lines so I wasn't sure.

Cheers - jg1234

I was able to get the LA5FN canopy open using this mod and version 4.10.1 with no problem.

Thanks to those involved with making this and the great info I received in this thread.

This is great stuff.

Just a helpful hint.  DGEN may not find these new Lagg3s if they're merly put in Europlanes.dat, though I had no problem with Series 1 in Lvov41, Barbarossa, Crimea41 or Typhoon.  You'll have to make a separate XXXplanes.dat file for every other map you put these planes in (e.g. Crimea42planes.dat, Kuban42planes.dat etc.).  Just make copies of your Europlanes.dat file, with the appropriate mod planes added, and rename them.

This Mod has been three years now and I rediscovered it.
But it is especially now that I discover that the "opencanopy" of this Mod is not included in the UP2.01!
It covers only 2/3 planes contained in UP2.01 but it is simple to adapt it to missing planes.

So very late ... thank you for this high quality work!  :) :)

Hello Guys !

I'd like to ask, is there any 3d fix to smoothen cockpit frames for Lagg and La fighters ?
