For those still foxed by HD problems...
« on: April 14, 2017, 09:17:02 AM »

This is my experience using BAT V2.0 updated to Expansion Pack 11.

On page 6 of the manual it states:

"The first set BATDLLS-01 is installed by default. The second
set BATDLLS-02 will resolve issues for systems that do not get
on with the first set: Simply UnZIP to your main Il2 Install
and over-write."

The installation of BAT replaces the following six stock .dll files: il2_core.dll; il2_corep4.dll; il2corSSE3.dll; il2corSSE4.dll; msvcp71.dll; and msvcr71.dll.

I ran into a problem in that, while the Hind-E showed perfectly well in Jet Age, when using World at War a few aircraft at mission-start would blow up, show up in pink, or a combination of the two.

In a test mission of mine any flyable F4U Corsairs could take custom high-res skins but I couldn't get my stationary F4U Corsairs to accept any high-res custom skins.

Next I switched to the second set of .dll files supplied with BAT. At that point, when running the mission from FMB, after putting a custom high-res skin on my Corsair in the "Arming" screen, I now couldn't get past "38% Loading Aircraft" ; I had to resort to using the Task Manager to exit back to desktop.

I replaced the second set of .dll files with the first set accepting losing the aircraft and no high-res skins on stationary planes just so I could enjoy the rest of BAT. I was still going crazy though because nobody else seemed to have any of these issues and I wanted to get everything out of BAT that was being offered.

I then figured I had nothing to lose and finally replaced the BAT .dll files with the original ones from a sacrosanct vanilla install of SAS ModAct 5.30. I copied the six files and installed them in the BAT rootfolder, fired up the game for the Jet Age module (to see the benchmark Hind), and held my breath. A quick peek in QMB showed the Hind-E in all its camoflaged glory - thank goodness so far. I went back to the WAW2 module and opened my test mission. I find I can now give stationary planes my high-res skins, my own plane its high-res skin, and most (but not all unfortunately) of the planes I lost before are now available.

For those that have lost their original .dll filles here's mine that I am using as of this moment:

I hope this helps anyone in a similar situation.

Oh, and on a final note, my hardware may have something to do with this but I really have no idea. Here's my system as I built it back in October 2013:

Asus Sabertooth 990FX mobo
AMD Bulldozer FX-8350 8-core 4GhzCPU
EVGA GeForce GTX 770 w/2GB GDDR5 SDRAM
Samsung MZ-7TE500BW EVO 840 500GB SSD
2 X 16GB Kingston Hyper-X Blue Dual Channel DDR3 RAM
