I'm really impressed.  Thanks for listing all the planes, I'll be playing the DCG for every one of them.  Many hours of delight with this one.

Thank you. That was my goal.  8)

Different people like to fly different planes. Some like fighters, some like bombers. Personally I like recon planes. Thats why I like to include all kinds of planes for a player to fly when I design a campaign.

Thank you Shakaali, excellent work.  I used to love this type of campaign.  Its really interesting but I always fall behind with DCG.  I can't remeber if I have it, what to do with it.  Can we set up a main page listing how/where to download and install the DCG setup?  I need a refresher course.  :P

If necessary we may even setup a DCG section for the BAT forum, because there is real value in this system of campaigns and your work is very good.  We have some other DCG'ers in B.A.T. as well and we need to put all this together.

Thanks, Monty  :)

You're right, we need dcg install and set up instructions. I'll add them in the first post some time later - right now I'm on a mobile device and adding links using a small touchscreen is a pain in the butt.

I'm not sure if we need a special dcg section as the number of campaigns is small. However, I think campaign creators should clearly indicate what type of campaign they post (dcg, dgen, static). As they usually do.

How about a dcg instructions sticky?

Looks very interesting. I'll also be looking to get DCG up and running again to give this campaign a try.

There is an installation/getting started manual: https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,20872.msg225690.html#msg225690

It's five years old but still valid, except for the download link.
The new download page is:

I've tried DCG with BAT before with some of the standard campaigns but it would always crash during flight at some point. Can I expect to this campaign to work or did I mess something up with my DCG installation and it ought to work even with the standard (not specifically designed for BAT) campaigns?

This campaign works with BAT. Occasional crashes may happen.

Out-of-the-box DCG is designed for vanilla 4.13. Any modpacks require fiddling with dcg files (class.dcg, allpayloads.dcg etc). Thats why they are always included with a campaign and third-party campaigns should always be started from third party data folder. That is where campaign creator puts the modified dcg files.

If campaign is designed for another modpack, it may or may not work. Campaigns designed for CUP should work with BAT.  Campaigns designed for vanilla Il-2 should work, but conflicting mods may cause the game to crash.

If DCG doesn't work with standard campaigns, it is because some mod has changed something, such as payloads or internal aircraft names.

 Too many variables  :(

Edit: Just wanted to add that DCG s not difficult to install or use. Don't be intimidated by the zillion strangely-named files - it's up to us campaign creators to keep them working.

Well put, Shakaali, on all counts. Lonestar's installation instruction is very good and holds up to this day. One other thing that some users may not realize is that DCG and DGEN can work together. DCG has a menu option that will let you toggle between the two. I like to fly DCG, DGEN, and static campaigns at different times depending on mood; all have their advantages.
