Mosquito B IV 105 Squadron
« on: June 03, 2017, 05:33:14 AM »

Hi Benny's search for a BOAC Mosquito skin made me download the 'Mosquito Legends' campaign. The skins with it are pretty good, but not completly accurate, specially where it comes to the markings. Ecxuse for this could be that back in 1942 nobody was sure on what markings these planes should have. It started out with scheme 1 ( my name, just for clarification):

It seems that there was another version of this scheme, but it's not sure that this was actually applied to the aircraft:

The confusion remained and it was decided that unarmed bomber should have the 'Day fighter scheme:

complete with Sky spinners, fuselage band, yellow leading edges and underwing roundels. However this did'nt fulfilled its purpose and a 'final' scheme was approved:

Well you can imagine my question by now: is there one of the skinners that is willing to make some 105 Squadron skins with the subtle differences I didn't found in the previous skins.
BTW, the pretty pictures were borrowed form 'War Paint Special No. 3' and Model Aircraft Monthly April 2014'

Hi Benno, I have downloaded 'all' Mosquito skins and packs and there's only one with the combination of sky underside and black spinners. A marked skin by Rigger, its a good skin but a little bit dated. And it has C roundels  ::(  But thanks for the info
