Nope, didn't work, same crash at same point

It worked for thousands of other users before, no good reason for it not to work for you...

You've got many files there that do not belong to 4.12.2.

Try running the The 4.13.X Unpatcher to downgrade from any 4.13 version to 4.12.2...

whistler, I used the 4.10 downgrade from GoG before, and then installed the megapatch, and ran into the same issue, but I'll give it a go with this downgrade patch. Thanks mate!

I am sure you did, but there are many files still there that should not be there at all. Get rid of them!



Also post images of the folders BAT00 and BAT03 (since we are trying to run WAW)

I've deleted that install to try a fresh one, and I still have my (working) backup which has no expansions
Once I've got the expansions in this, I'll make sure to do so though

Ok, install EXP 1 only. Can you now see WAW75.SFS in the folder BAT03? (I am not sure why you have all BATEP01, BATEP02... folders in the root folder. You must copy the contents of BATEP01, BATEP02 to your root folder, not the folders)

WaW75.sfs is there now, and before I didn't (for some reason, probably because it's too hot to think today) realise I had to actually take the files out and move them to the main folder to overwrite the files as required.
Sorry for the long wait, but I forgot I could unzip the batch of 1-29 straight from downloads rather than moving it first

Anyway, I'm going to have to get some sleep, so I won't be able to make any progress till about 8am BST tomorrow

There you go! Each expansion comes with a readme, take the time to follow the instructions and your B.A.T. will be rock solid

ok! a few tips from me as well: make sure to read the included readme or even the release thread of each and every EP carefully!
sometimes, a new EP requires to COPY its content OVER the respective mod folders, a checkpoint though is a COMPLETELY NEW MODFOLDER, replacing the old one entirely;

the difference of an improperly executed update in the mod folders is that you might miss several dozen or even hundreds of new classfiles, causing the dreaded 70% crash, the most dasdardly crash to hunt down if you dont know what you are doing....

make sure to check your game after each consecutive update! the funny part starts after EP08 - careful reading of the included readme files is essential or you will end up with a broken game time and again...

and as has been posted already - also make sure to start with a properly patched game version! check this one as well! if you hop from version to version without checking if the base game works properly will surely cause you another series of grief!
