Multiple Monitor Set up ?
« on: September 01, 2017, 09:16:37 AM »

I've been playing around with setting up two monitors for flying. I have set up my video card to work with the two monitors as one. I have a XFX Radeon Core addition 7850 1gig card. I have used the software Eyefinity that came with it to set up the monitors. Everything is working great as far as my desktop & other games, but I cannot get IL2 1946 v4.12.2m to work with this set up. I researched and found that you have to change some settings in conf file. I have tried three different settings I found from three different guys and they have not worked. Are there any mods still needed or do I just not have the right settings ? I have changed to much in conf file to remember what all I've done, so I need some help. Thanks

Try to use your monitor without eyfinity, set your left monitor as 1st monitor - Probably it works also with eyfinity, I have a nvidia card.
On this 1st monitor set a custom resolution that use the combined resolution for both monitors like 3840*1080 (1920*2! for two full hd monitors).
In the conf.ini set it like this:
[window]
width=3840
height=1080
ColourBits=32
DepthBits=24
StencilBits=8
ChangeScreenRes=0
FullScreen=1
DrawIfNotFocused=1
EnableResize=1
EnableClose=0
SaveAspect=0
Use3Renders=0
WideScreenFoV=1
UIColor=5
UIDetail=0
UIBackground=rnd
Use3RendersUI=1

I use 3 Monitors and it works great :-D

MaD,

Looking like a great set up!

I've got it up for 3 monitors too for the same version of il2, but do you also have your menus stretched across all 3 monitors? If not, what's the fix you figured out? thanks in advance!

I got used to the menu on all monitors... not optimal, but working.
On 4.13.x you can use Use3RendersUI=1, than the menus sticks on your middle monitor. Don't know, if it works on 4.12.x.

From what I had researched the resolution I think I had, it's the other settings that were confusing. I'm going to try your settings and see what happens. Thanks for the info. I'll let you know if I get it to work. After seeing yours, I really want 3 monitors now. Nice rig!

Bringing this back up as i just re-installed 1946 (4.12.2 with HSFX 7.03) and have everything working but the cockpit, even with max FOV set, is too big on my 7680x1440 triples in Nvidia surround. What we need (I think?) is an adjustable FOV in the ini file or in-game to about 120. I believe 85 is max now. My screens look very similar to the ones shown, just need to reduce that cockpit size..
